Read moreI recently had a meal at the restaurant, Rotes Kamel Berlin, and I would like to share my experience with you. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly, there were a few issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction with the dining experience.
The first issue was with the timing of the service. While the staff were friendly and welcoming, the wait between courses was quite long. It was difficult to maintain the momentum of the meal when there were such long gaps between courses, and it detracted from the overall enjoyment of the experience.
Additionally, while the presentation of the dishes was impressive, the quality of the food itself was not as high as I would have expected. Some of the dishes were overcooked, and others were under-seasoned, leaving them with a bland taste. It was disappointing to have such an underwhelming culinary experience, especially given the high expectations that come with dining here.
Lastly, the menu lacked variety, and there were very few vegetarian or vegan options available. As someone who prefers plant-based meals, this limited my options and left my vegetarian friends in a bit of a limo feeling somewhat unsatisfied with the meal.
Overall, while the service and atmosphere were positive, the issues with the timing of the service, the quality of the food, and the limited menu options left me feeling underwhelmed by the dining experience at Rotes Kamel Berlin. I hope that you will take this feedback on board and work to improve the restaurant for future guests.
Thank you for your attention to this...
Read moreAvoid this place if you can! Let me explain why:
First, the food is mediocre and overpriced compared to the Berlin average. The service was passable, at best. Things started to seem questionable when they brought over two small bottles of water that were ALREADY OPEN. The water was clearly tap water, yet they charged us €3.50 for each bottle. But the worst came at the end. But the worst came at the end. When we asked for the bill and requested to pay by card, the waiter brought over the card machine without a printed bill showing the cost of what we’d ordered, and charged us €200, which one of us paid. When we asked for the printed bill to split it among ourselves (we were 7 people), he stalled and only reluctantly brought it over. Imagine our surprise when we saw the actual total was €179—not €200. In other words, he’d taken his tip in advance. Seeing my expression, he even had the nerve to offer us free shots.
We might have left a tip on our own. But it wasn’t our decision to make.
From what I’ve experienced in Berlin, this sort of thing is unfortunately common, especially in places like this, where tourists are treated with disdain, disrespect, and as easy targets for small scams. It’s disappointing to have these types of experiences pile up over just a few days’ visit.
