If you’re on the hunt for authentic Indian cuisine in Berlin, look no further than Ram Indisches. This charming gem brings the vibrant flavors of India to life in a cozy, welcoming setting. The menu at Ram Indisches is a perfect blend of traditional Indian dishes, each made with the finest ingredients and spices, and modern interpretations that give them a unique twist. The naan here deserves special mention—light, fluffy, and slightly crispy on the edges, it’s the perfect accompaniment to mop up the delicious gravies. The rice is perfectly cooked, fluffy, and fragrant, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to every bite.

THIS IS THE STORY OF HOW I FOUND THIS EXCELLENT INDIAN RESTAURANT. I arrived in the Berlin Hauptbanhof train station in the late afternoon on Wednesday 26/09/2018 after a long travel from Bamberg. The moment I arrived in Berlin, I missed the last train from Berlin to my destination Poznan in Poland. I found out that the only way I could get to Poznan was to travel in a rail replacement bus departing at 11.30pm and I had to wait for 5 hours. I decided to take a walk in the surrounding areas of the Brandenberg Gate. While walking around, I felt hungry and wanted to eat. So I continued to walk and suddenly I found this Indian restaurant and I decided to eat in there.

I ate a nice bowl of rice with lamb curry. This rice and lamb curry dish is delicious. I drank 2 bottles of German beer as well. The restaurant server, Mr Gill, served me at the table with an excellent service. I liked the food and the restaurant service so much that I decided to take a photo of myself and Mr Gill and you can see this photo in the review. I WILL EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN THE NEXT TIME I COME...

I’ve been to a few restaurants offering Indian food on a few continents but this one ranks among the lowest in terms of taste, service and general ambience.

That the samosas were excessively salty should have indicated what was to come. I mean can anyone get samosas wrong?

We ordered mixed vegetable curry, chana masala, garlic naan, tandoori naan and a tandoori roti aka chapati here. Now in other restaurants the waiters have said that the vegetable curry or the chana masala are accompanied by rice but not here. What this meant was we ordered more breads than needed.

But in any case the curry and chana masala were so tasteless that most of the food ended up half eaten.

In my experience the waiters more than make up for the quality of the food but in this case they were totally indifferent. This must rank as one of the least friendly...

I visited this restaurant during my visit to Brandenburg Gate and had a nice meal of chicken Biryani for the very first time. I’ll say it was a good meal and was well prepared. The ambience of the restaurant is also good. With an outdoor and indoor seat area. The waitress was pleasant was seemed a bit overwhelmed on this particular day, maybe due to multiple orders and many clients. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend for those looking to try Indian dishes.

The service was quick and attentive. I ordered the lamb tikka, which came out quickly in a sizzling plate. The sauce complimented the meat very well, and the pieces of fresh ginger added a lightness to the meal. The menu advises of allergy items, and the staff were knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. All in all, a very pleasant experience. We sat in the outdoor tables, which are shaded by nearby trees. Ich liebe die essen, und es ist sehr lecker.
