Adopting a certain Australian coffeehouse aesthetic (people are yet to catch up on Melbourne's cultural destruction of the world), this novel café began cropping up in all the usual places. If I had had the wherewithal to, I would have come up with a barnometer that measured the barniness of certain areas in the city, that is to say, areas that were rife for a Barn to open. It is something you can literally tell in the air, not dissimilar to the weather. Rosenthaler Platz was due for a Barn. Read morei’ve been to a different location and the atmosphere is nice, however at this location i asked them to put a shot of espresso into a hot chocolate and they said they would not do that for me. i would only have to order them separately and do it myself. i want the mocha to mix with the coffee directly- doing this after the milk is added is not as effective.
i find this really pretentious as any good coffee shop should have their flavor of coffee and milk stand up to their chocolate. i drink this to gage skill and style of the baristas. maybe they need to select a better chocolate? or take better care with the espresso shots?
