I was in Berlin for a week and this place was just down the street from the Circus Hostel where I was staying. I arrived in Berlin late at night (around 10 PM) and I was absolutely exhausted and starving after travelling all afternoon, so I needed a quick and cheap feed as I hadn’t had dinner yet. So I went and found this place after checking in to the hostel and dropping my bag off. After I ordered, not before, after I made the order, I was about to pay and then the bloke was just like “It’s cash only”. At that very moment, my brain just felt like committing suicide 💀... It’s 2023, who even carries around cash anymore?! Why do you have to be snobs and not get an EFTPOS machine like around 99% of businesses in the developed world have nowadays? Anyway, so I didn’t get a kebab that time. But after I obtained some euros, I came here on a couple of occasions when I didn’t feel like going out far away to get a meal or didn’t feel like spending big money which is very common in Berlin and the kebabs here are very tasty and...
Read moreAs a Tourist, this is undoubtedly one of the best convenient food places we tried. It's low cost, extremely quick service and very friendly and fun staff made our (multiple) experiences great. During our 7 days we definitely went at least 15 times.
It's a traditional Döner place, with meat piled high on the spit, but it's their secret array of spices that truly make it. It's very well seasoned meat, and the variations they produce [i.e. shawarma, gyro etc] are all fantastic. But what truly makes the meat, outside of its great seasoning? The bread they use is crisp yet fluffy but by some means of sorcery is also very lightweight. for 2-4 euros, you get a quality meal that is very filling but also very nutritious. Included is also plenty of veggies from pickled veggies of various kinds to the traditional things such as tomatoes, lettuce, peppers etc. You can also get hummus, Greek grape leaves, spinach, tabouleh and the list continues.
It's fantastic, stop reading this...
Read moreWithout a doubt the best Döner I’ve ever had. Everything was perfect. The sauce, meat, salad, and cheese altogether made it a culinary experience that you must try if your in Berlin. Make sure you ask for the garlic and chili sauce and then they will clop it together and it will emulsify the flavor. And how can I not mention how well the feta cheese adds to the flavor profile. It elevated the experience to the point that I had to go 6 times in 4 days. Another reason why I went here so many times were the employees. They were so welcoming despite me not knowing German. It truly was an amazing time getting to know them. The location is also very convenient due to it being in a plaza that is ripe with hostels and hotels. One of the biggest pros was the affordability. You can walk in with €10 and walk away with an experience...
