Before arriving to Cologne we investigated about the best Brauhaus in the city and many sites recommended us Sion. Now we can tell that is 100% recomendable, very large restaurant, we didn’t wait for a table at all. Ordered 2 pork knuckles, 1 boiled and 1 grilled, both very tasty and large portions. We would recommend each for 2 people. The beer as one of the traditional drinks in city, Kölsch is of course served here, very tasty and comes to you very quickly, the tradition is that the waiters won’t stop bringing full glasses if you don’t lay your coaster on your glass.

Food was pretty good, but from the first step we placed here we got dirty looks because we were young. They treated us like we were trash and made us wait so long. They accedentaly gave us the local ppl card with lower prices and when i went to pay i got the tourist prices which were way higher. I just accepted that and wanted to pay but then they asked for tip. I said no thank you and the guy went crazy. I said well you were very rude and you gave me the wrong price, showed a picture of the menu i got (which i took beforehand because i knew this was going to happen) and he said "NO THIS IS OLD MENU!" which it very clearly wasnt. He was mad at me for not tipping and just payed the (tourist price) amount. Walked out and was so amazed by this experience. Dont come here if you want to be treated right.

Auf meinen Dienstreisen 2024, ist es das mit aller schlechteste, was ich je gegessen habe. Ich meine, es ist ja bekannt, an den Touristen Hotspots, meist mit mehr oder weniger mittelprächtig Qualität abgespeist zu werden, aber das hier war wirklich mit Abstand das letzte. Ich hatte extra den Kellner gefragt, ob dieses Gericht einen hohen Fettanteil hätte, um mir versichert wurde, dass er sich nur um das Fleisch und nicht um die Schwarte handelt. da hingehen, großen Hunger gehabt sich gefreut, bestellt. Daraufhin wurde dieser Teller binnen weniger als 5 Minuten serviert, flankiert von einem Salat, der soweit okay war. Die Sauce wie in der Karte beschrieben, war keine Sauce, sondern ein rotzartiger Pamp aus Zwiebeln und Fett. Das Fleisch (vermutlich seit Stunden in einem Bottich vor sich hin vegetiert), überzogen von der Fett Kruste. Die Fett Kruste ist normalerweise eine Eigenart des Gerichtes, aber hätte ich nicht vorher extra nachgefragt, hätte es mich auch nicht gestört. Der Gipfel, oder besser gesagt, der unterirdische Tiefpunkt waren die Kartoffeln. Diese waren als Bratkartoffeln angepriesen, mir war nicht klar, dass man aus Kartoffeln so etwas ekelhaftes produzieren kann. Mit Sicherheit waren diese Kartoffeln bis ins Delirium gebraten/oder billigerweise frittiert , und vermutlich seit Tagen stehen gelassen worden. Die Bratkartoffeln am oberen Rand des Tellers, waren absolut steinhart und ungenießbar. Das Schlimmste in der ganzen Sache war aber nicht die Qualität des Essens an sich, sondern dass es dem Service gelinde gesprochen, vollkommen egal war. Auf die Frage hin, wie das Essen schmeckt, habe ich wirklich klar verständlich mitgegeben, dass die Kartoffeln „…besch****…“ und wirklich eklig sind. Einziger Kommentar vom Service, „…ich sag’s der Küche….“. - Thema erledigt! Deutlich hätte man nicht ausdrücken können, dass es einem Gelände gesprochen vollkommen egal ist. Für Köln wird mir das eine Lehre sein, im Nachgang festgestellt. Wie viele tolle Restaurants ist noch im Umfeld weiter unten an den Rheinterrassen gibt, wo ich vermutlich preislich genauso abgezockt worden wäre, aber zumindest keine schlechtere Qualität als das hätte. Einfach unterirdisch! Die abschließende Frechheit war beim bezahlen der Rechnung proaktiv, nach Trinkgeld zu fragen .

Fast, friendly service and very tasty, food in good sized portions with beer (kolsch) that keeps on coming in the typical little 2cl straight sided glasses. Just the thing to restore and comfort after a journey. Note, the beer really does keep on coming, like most beer halls in Cologne they mark down each glass of Kolsch on a beer mat as a tally and will keep replacing the empty ones until you place the beer mat on top of your empty glass to signal you have finished.

It was a bit complicated to catch attention of a waiter at first, but as soon as they got your order, it's pretty fast and smiley service( at least the girl who took my order). I ordered one of the specialities: sausage and potato salad mainly out of curiosity. It was interesting. I saw amazing food on another plates so my choice wasn't perfect, I think. Interior is amazing! Outside it is nicely shaded tables but inside....oh, god, it is extremely beautiful place!

After a delayed flight and late check in we were looking for dinner but everywhere was closing the kitchens. The staff here were super friendly and welcomed us in. The service was efficient and the food was really good, authentic German dishes. I had an amazing pumpkin soup and my companion a goulash soup that he hasn’t stopped talking about since!! We were too hungry to take photos!! Currywurst was really good too. A nice spot for a quick bite .
