I was about to leave a good review but when I looked at what I paid for the table I changed my mind. They charged 15€ for "diverse Getränke" which none of us has ordered. We had 2 cakes and eclair in addition to the drinks. One cake they charged, and instead of charging for one more cake and one more eclair they charged 15€ for "diverse Getränke". We wanted to be nice and decided to pay together so they have less work to do but it was a bad decision. P.S. Of course it can be just a mistake made not intentionally. Then please answer my comment and let's correct it.

Es ist Weihnachtsmarktzeit. Der Weihnachtsmarkt proppevoll, und was es da zu essen gibt und zu welchem Preis - nö. Ich möchte was besseres, außerdem friere ich. Alle Kneipen und Restaurants um den Alter Markt herum und am Rheinufer voll, mit Warteschlangen oder nur noch draußen mit Heizstrahler. Hallo, im Winter sitze ich nicht draußen zum essen, denn da ist es trotz Heizstrahler kalt. Da kommen wir zufällig am PianoPiano vorbei, ist nicht so voll, also rein. Und das war ein Volltreffer. Reinkommen und gleich links am Fenster zwei Barhocker direkt an der Heizung und Thekentisch. Herrlich warm. Pizza, schnell bestellt, schnell da. Seit langem die leckerste Pizza (Funghi und eine mit Parmesan und Rucola), die ich gegessen habe. Boden dünn, Rand knusprig, Belag frisch und lecker. Wein Pino Griggio, sehr lecker. Zum Nachtisch so ein süßes Dings mit Rafaello-Füllung, einen doppelten Espresso und einen Grappa. Bedienung sehr nett, Restaurant füllte sich zusehends. Preise, naja, Leute, Ihr seid mitten in Köln, da steppt der Bär. Was erwartet Ihr. Und guckt Euch mal die Preise in den anderen Restaurants oder Brauhäusern an. Ich finde es jedenfalls super im PianoPiano dort am Fenster mit Heizung, und mein Abend war gerettet.

Decent restaurant with reasonable prices (like you'd expect in Germany). Ice cream shop next to it (same owner). If you want a quiet night out, check to see if there's another reservation at the restaurant; apparently a choir practices there very frequently and it might not be as quiet as you'd like it to be. Btw: we ordered the 'scallopina a la Milanese' and the 'tortellini a la panna'; good choice!

With little expectations, me and two friends went to have diner at PianoPiano. The location is very very good, just by City Class Hotel and we decided to give a chance. And when we met the owner, Mr. Mustafa, we noticed at that point that a good experience was about to start.my colleague choose a salad, the other asked for a pizza and I asked for the secret plate of the house that is a pasta with cheese and honest sized shrimps. And everyone was so happy with the good food - two of my fellows were American and I am brazilian - that we invited Mr Mustafa for a talking. We learned his history and how he became the owner of the place. But if you want to know, you have to go there and find out by yourself. Even the beer and, specially the coffee, were super delicious. We are very please and happy to know Piano Piano and we will come back for sure!...

Fred Andre (as below...) there is no mushroom soup. Might have been better than what I had, tomato which was one of two options. It was like a watered down tin of Campbell’s. Garlic bread at 5.90... four small pieces of ciabatta drenched in oil. Served wrong drinks first. However... we didn’t get charged for drinking them or the extra bread we insisted on to make up for the poor portion we had been presented (in garlic form). Wasn’t clear it was cash only, lucky we had some. Servers were polite. Felt for them as it was totally hectic and clearly not enough people around to deal with all...
