Inside, she stands behind the counter—a black-haired beauty with a warm smile and eyes full of calm. She’s always kind, always cheerful. The kind of girl who makes the whole place feel like a hug.

She makes the potato pancakes fresh, always fresh. You hear the sizzle when the batter hits the pan, and when she hands it over, it’s hot, crisp on the outside, soft and comforting inside. One bite and the world slows down. Everything else fades.

My wife and I stopped here for a snack after a very disappointing meal at Haxenhaus, just around the corner. We had watched with envy as people walked past with little cardboard trays of beautiful potato waffles and luckily found where they were coming from after walking in the direction the people had come from.
