Well, lesson learnt. If a friend does not recommend an eatery, do listen. I was hungry for lunch, Vietnamese is one of my favourites. Still, with all these numerous positive reviews, more than 1500, how do people review restaurants? Going for lunch or dinner alone should be totally acceptable and not a nuisance like I felt to be stuffed into the back far left corner next to the toilets. The waitress didn't even wait for me, so I could ask to switch tables just to a really slightly bigger table in the sun. There were plenty of tables for couples, friends and groups. Then, unfortunately quite a few of their dishes like Bo Luc lac or swimming noodles weren't available. I then went for her recommendation of another beef and veggie dish but instead of rice, I'd asked if it was possible to swap it for rice noodles. Well, after a few sentences of misunderstandings, no, I did actually understand it correctly, she pointed out, I'd have to pay an extra 3,10 euros for the swap. Makes absolutely no sense, I'm from gastro industry and yes, happy to pay a swap fee but not double the amount of the side dish. My food came in exactly five minutes after I ordered, so it was no surprise that I could see through the window to the kitchen that there were stacked plates of at least eight dishes ready with the rice on it. They prepare it in advance which understandably makes the food Luke warm and completely not fresh. The rice was overcooked not really nice. Generally all main dishes look like a soup of some sauce with some sort of vegetable or some sort of meat on the side a pyramid of rice which has been sitting there for a long time. Additionally the box with the cutlery and serviettes she brought had dirty used serviettes. The music reminds me of club ambiance and way too loud. People are raising their voices to talk to each other. I'd prefer a conversation with a friend over getting amped up to go dancing. The whole ambiance with the full on decoration reminds me of the themed restaurants at big family and holiday mass hotels. Not again. No thanks. Remember this is...

The food is good, but the service is absolutely unacceptable. I waited to be seated, the two waitresses working passed by me and ignored me until the bar tender just said from across the bar I can sit anywhere (there was a sign asking to wait to be seated...) I sat down. A waitress came by and threw down manus on the table and left. I waited for almost ten minutes for someone to take my order even though the waitresses passed by my table, looked at me and ignored me, and did so only after I waived at one of them that passed by that literally rolled her eyes at me before turning to the table. Then I proceeded to wait 30 minutes for 8 pieces of sushi. After 30 minutes I managed to waive down one of the waitresses and asked about my order. She replied that "that's the situation" But she will check my order. Surprise, a minute later she came out with my order, which I suspect has been waiting there for her to pick up for a while, unless my timing was truly magical. No apology was offered, and honestly after the eye roll I got, I didn't expect one. Needles to say I will not be coming back to this place, which is a shame because the sushi was...

A couple of friends and I came to Codo a few days ago to have dinner. I had already tried it once with delivery during the lockdown times and had quite liked it but this time I was disappointed.

I tried the spring rolls and I had the flying noodles. The rolls were actually pretty nice but the flying noodles were basically food to take a picture of. They look cool, yes, but the pasta had no taste, just plain boiled linguine with no seasoning... Now checking the pictures of other people I see that they usually seem to have sauce and some sesame, so maybe they forgot something, but mine were definitely plain. Also the water that I ordered to drink...

***For VEGAN or VEG lovers- important thing*** Codo at postplatz is making vegan dishes with veg brew or broth… while codo at albertplatz making with non-veg brew or broth.. so who are strict to vegan please take care of it… choose postplatz codo…Thanks… I hope it will be helpful for all vegan or veg lovers. I used to go there, at Codo. And I am vegatrian and there is not more options to enjoy more dishes for vegan buddies… but It so delicious and very healthy as well. I recommend this beautiful preparation ‘78a- Zitrongras-Tofu’ even who are not vegan.. they should try it.
