👍👍👍 We were here in Dresden on the first, warmest day of 2023 and we immediately noticed the ambience of the "Kutscherschänke" restaurant and the menu promised a lot. In addition, right in front, next to the tavern, there is a sausage stand, where the restaurant offers grilled bratwurst for those hungry in between. And if you want, you can also enjoy the sausage at the table. There is plenty of room for guests inside and out. The decor is really quaint, as is the food, which we liked so much that we immediately went there again on Sunday. Cheers to the kitchen. The guests are offered a well-functioning free WiFi and all kinds of hearty drinks. All this is rounded off by coffee and chocolate specialties and homemade lemonade for the little ones. And not to forget the great, friendly, sometimes funny service of every single waiter/waitress, in a great Bavarian outfit. All in all, very recommendable, in other words: The "Kutscherschänke" is worth a visit. 👍👍👍

Really great experience in the heart of Dresden, authentic german food and beer that is affordable and easily accessible. Most of the staff speak a variety of English, German, Czech or French! So tourists can get answers to any questions regarless of language. There is an indoor seating area which required booking in advance as it is a very busy restaurant with a lot of foot traffic to the town centre. So we opted to sit outside where anyone can take a seat and be served very swiftly! The views were amazing from the outside and the menu was very visible and easy to understand. For example, a really nice looking beef burger was 17 euros. And beers/drinks were clearly labelled at the back of the menu The staff were very friendly to us and were happy to serve us and we had a very nice meal. Will 100% come again if ever in dresden!

I am never writing comments on reviews and rarely doing reviews, however I am doing an exception due to my surreal experience there😅 We wanted to go at Kutscerschänke for lunch, because of the great reviews. Before lunch we decided to take 2 Irish coffees as a take away in order to walk around beautiful Dresden a bit more. We enter the restaurant and the following conversation with a very rude waitress took place.🤣 Me:Hello, do you serve coffee for take away? Waitress:Yes we do, sit down. She left, returned with a receipt and said: Waitress: It is 10€ Me: All coffees have the same price? (Because she didn't ask what coffee we wanted to order, until this point) Waitress: Yes all coffees have the same price. Me: How do you know what coffee we need? Waitress: I, KNOW what coffee you need. It is 10€. Me: Can I pay with Card? Waitress: It is 10€, you want to pay 10€? Me: Can I pay you with Card? Waitress: It is 10€, you want to pay 10€? Me: YES, Can I Pay You? with Card? Waitress: 2 coffees are 10€, you want to pay 10€ for 2 coffees? Me:YES,With CARD, can I pay you with my card? Waitress:Yes Finally I paid😅😅, and in the meanwhile another waitress approached with 2 Filter Coffees that we never ordered 😅, cause the rude one "knew what we want"😅😅 Of course I said we need 2 Irish coffees. She seemed confused, annoyed and a bit awkward, she said in German language to the other waitress to bring us 2 Irish coffees. The funny part is that she brought a receipt of 5.60 € and in the POS charged 10€. I don't really give a f...k about the extra money😅. Although I believe it is highly illegal to charge 10€ and give receipt for 5.60😅😅😅 I ve travelled a lot and honestly didn't believe that I would meet this kind of practices in Germany of all places😅😅😅 Needless to say after this attitude we didn't have our lunch there.😅😅😅 I must admit that the Irish coffee was very good 👍

First the bad things about this place: Our waitress that worked today evening probably didn't like her job. She was not very happy or friendly, and we felt that se avoided eye contact with us. We sat outside and it started to rain, and the parasol didn't cover over me and my chair completely, so it was raining on my back. I have moved my chair, so I didn't get wet. The chubby rude lady from the kitchen, that brought us our food was complaining, that she couldn't come through for me sitting there, not like I had any other choice without getting wet. I also didn't like, that other customers were smoking at the restaurant area, but I believe it's a problem generally in Germany, not only in this place. The good things: The food was nice and affordable. We were serviced right away, and didn't wait too long for the food. Some other waitresses/waiters seemed nice and friendly.

Excellent food establishment. Now this place? You've got to go! I've seen this place posted on all the articles and I guess it's all listed for a reason. I ordered the beef ribs, and my oh my! They fell of the bone, like a child on its bike on Christmas morning. They had a main vege option of fried cauli and pumpkin strudel w/ lemon butter sauce, which for my friend was a nice change from a diet of pasta and bread. The staff were really friendly. Sadly didn't get the name of 1 guy, but he kindly entertained our questions and shared some real knowledgeable nuggets of European history that really added to a great dining experience. Definitely recommend, especially if you're a fan of slow cooked tender ribs with VIELE flavour.

A wonderful spot in Dresden central to dine. Traditional food, cozy ambience and friendly service. We came in for lunch. Best to know basic German when ordering. Staff not fluent in English but are very accommodating. We truly enjoyed our light meal of pork shoulder and baked ragout (they have English translations on their menu), with beer, aperol spritz (it was summer after all) and sekt. May look like a tourist trap because of its location but locals go there, too. My friend who lives there says that generations of her family have been going to this restaurant as part of family outings. We’re glad to have eaten here. Prices were decent, too.
