I deduct one star for the following reasons:
They served everything (for example lacchha paratha, garlic naan, bhatoora) at the same time. All three of these items feel easily chewable if served hot. So, I and my friend from Italy would have preferred had they asked us whether we want those dishes at the same time or not.
We asked them to keep 'shaahi paneer' moderately spicy but they kept the spice level so low, it tasted almost sweet.
They did not give spoon to us without being asked.
They gave us paper napkin, instead of more sturdy, cloth ones.
They didn't use some high rise fencing or something to hide those dustbins. If one would want to sit outside but then because of dustbins, one is likely to see flies outside, it doesn't look visually appealing too to sit close to the dustbin.
But these things didn't matter much because of the following experiences that they offered:
Staff was very gentle, nice, polite and cheerful :)
They said to us that we can sit anywhere (even on tables that are meant for 4 or more people) although we were only two.
We loved the decoration inside - the lightings, the seating arrangement, cushioned seats, color coordination etc. Was perfect
They gave authentic touch to shahi paneer dish by lighting a 'diya' underneath it so that it looks good and stays hot
I liked that they were considerate of our time and made the Mango lassi and bill available to us in no time
They served rice as a complimentary dish
The taste was actually so much better as compared to other nicely reviewed Indian restaurants that I tried in Europe.
I have eaten Indian food in other parts of Europe too but nowhere else it tasted so much better! We ordered the following and it was priced at only 36-37 EUR.
Garlic Naan Lacchha Paratha Shahi Paneer Vegetable Raita Mango Lassi Papad (complimentary) 3 kinds of chutneys (complimentary) Rice (complimentary) Chhole Bhatoore
I generally don't like to eat Indian food outside because here in Europe because I trust my Cooking skills more than their, but these guys won my heart despite of their handful of shortcomings. đ
I would not think twice whenever I am in or around Frankfurt to visit...

I recently visited Anjappar restaurant in Frankfurt, filled with excitement and high expectations for an authentic Indian buffet dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit turned out to be an absolute disaster, and I feel compelled to share my candid feedback to save others from a similar disappointment.
From the moment I tasted the Pakkoda, I knew I was in for a rough meal. The lack of salt in the dish made it utterly bland and unappetizing. Next up was the Vada, which was not only overly oily but also undercooked, leaving an unpleasant taste in my mouth.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the Biryani was a fiery, overpowering mess of spices. It was so spicy that it became challenging to distinguish any other flavors. I can handle spice, but this was just excessive and masked any potential enjoyment.
The only redeeming aspect of the entire meal was the humble Naan, of which they only served two pieces on the table. It was soft and tasty, but it couldn't salvage the rest of the disappointing spread.
I had brought a friend along, boasting that Anjappar was the finest South Indian restaurant in town. Sadly, I was left feeling embarrassed and frustrated at the quality of the food and the overall experience. I wouldn't recommend this buffet to my worst enemies, as it was truly that bad.
The Dhal Makkini was the only other dish that offered some relief, but it was a small consolation in the sea of disappointment.
To sum it up, my visit to Anjappar restaurant was a colossal letdown, and I cannot emphasize enough how much I regretted taking my friend there. The lack of attention to taste, quality, and overall dining experience was appalling, and I cannot envision myself returning anytime soon.
If you're looking for an authentic Indian buffet dining experience in Frankfurt, I strongly advise exploring other options. Save your time, money, and taste buds from the misery that this restaurant has to offer. There are far better establishments that can deliver the flavors and quality you deserve.
Avoid Anjappar...
Read moreReview of the Buffet: In one word, underwhelming. I have seen the price bump up from 12,90 to 15,90 for a weekend buffet over the last nine months which is to some extent understandable given the energy crisis but in terms of a quality they are the same, not worth recommending, and the 25% price bump is way steeper than the neighbouring restaurants. The curries just donât have the rich flavour of Indian dishes and the spices (not in terms of how hot it is but in terms of the flavour of the contents). They seem to be prepared in a rush and the flavour is missing by far. The variety in the dishes is sub par too. I donât see frequent changes in the buffet menu and in fact have seen 80-90% similar buffet Sunday over Sunday (over 3 to four visits). They also have a very weird rule of not providing bowls for lintel soups or desserts but only for one South Indian curry (Sambhar). Some of the staff members are courteous others are tolerable at best. The ambience is better than the food. The breads are okay too. Itâs the curries and dishes offered in the buffet that disappoint big time in terms of flavour. I would not recommend this restaurant to the people looking for some delicious Indian food. South Indian food at Sarvana or North Indian fusion food in the neightbouring restaurant Eat Doori are much better. Also, I am posting this after multiple visits. I am not aware of any other Indian buffet in the neighbourhood but this is definitely disappointing.
Edit: Given the feedback of the restaurant, I consider that the price bump is fair enough given that it is a buffet but I would still hold on to the other aspects...
