Worst place we have been in Frankfurt. The two Madame were rude since the moment we open the door. They didn’t let us pay with credit card and probably they have some memory problem with beverage prices as we were told that a drink cost 5€ and discovered lately that the right price was 9,5€. But I really believe that was unintentionally and not for the fact that we were turist. Madame really love turists!!! They love us sooo much that they were always talking about us and after 20 minutes in the bar, and 1 minute after finishing drinking, we were said to leave the local as there were people waiting for the table. There were no people waiting for the table and I can pretty understand why. Can’t wait to come back!! Just joking, stay away from this place unless you are a very important bier...

Accepts only cash, but absolutely no word about this until it is time to pay. I had my credit card on me, but not my bank card to take money out to pay. The waitress (maybe owner?) got mad when I tried to explain that I had to go to my nearby hotel (showing my hotel room card) to get my bank card, and she demanded my phone. I eventually left my credit card as collateral, but this never should have happened in the first place, and there was no need to get mad when I was being upfront about the situation. I could have (and as it turns out should have) just walked out and returned with the cash, without saying anything to the woman first. It is crazy to think I would leave my phone with a stranger...

I came here upon arriving in Frankfurt and it was more than a welcome first place to go. I don't speak much (any) German, but the host spoke a little English. She was delightful! I ordered Frankfurters with potato salad and it also came with a little green salad, too. Incredibly delicious. I got a small glass of apple wine, too. I think it all came to 8€ and some change because the woman who cashed me out did not speak English, so I'm not sure, but definitely less than 10€. It was a great deal, in my opinion. The atmosphere was perfect since it's cold and snowy outside; warm and cozy. The menu isn't huge, but if you are looking for simple German food near and are near Römer, I...

Roaming around the old city on a short overnight stay and enjoyed sitting outside watching all the action in the square. This a cash $ only kniper. The food is basic, tasty and filling. The beer is top notch. The waitresses are not the friendliest but … hey, this is Germany. One waitress came through for us BIG time. Out of nowhere a massive thunderstorm with Big rains happened and I asked if she had an umbrella we could borrow. She rummaged around in the basement for about 5 minutes and gave us a life saving umbrella. Very kind of her and very much appreciated ! (She will be surprised to see us in 2 months bringing back her umbrella !!

In this pub, we experienced a bit of racism thing. This pub insists on demanding tips from asians. We are Koreans and visited due to its reputation. The beer was tasty, but we were suspicious about the receipt which included a 10% tip, a format we haven't seen in Germany. We asked Germans nearby and their receipts didn't mention such included tips. And they said this pub has never charged them the included tips to them. We felt this attitude was because we are Asian and were angered by the discriminatory behavior. If you are Asian, please avoid visiting this establishment.

I listed this as somewhere to go on our short trip, as it turned out, it was a lot busier than it should of been, but with 1 waitress who clearly didn't want to be there, who seemed to have a complete disdain for tourists or visitors. The place itself is not particularly special, although looks nice grin the outside where the outside seating is perfectly situated to watch passers by going about their business in the big square. So after waiting 10 mins for a beer, then being barked at, we left, and went to Paulaner am Dom instead - which was great.
