Conrad's - Deutsches Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfurt

The waitress had an issue with us from the start when we walked through the door. She was the only one waiting for the whole restaurant so she was very impatient and when asking about food she wasn’t happy with the fact we was asking questions about the food and alternatives we could possible have. we noticed she was being attentive to everyone else but not us. The food however was amazing and nothing to fault. when it came to the bill I had to ask and we waited for about 10 mins for her to come back and ask again what card are we using despite already telling her multiple times before that. We had already decided no tip due to her being rude from the beginning and she was like what’s the total, we replied the amount on the bill. She said that a tip was not included and asked again what’s the new total of the bill would be. We replied the amount of the bill. The bad experience here was only topped for worse experiences lately by the German Train System that had an hour and a half delay on a 3 hour ICE trip on our way home. It took so long to be acknowledged there that I told my husband we should leave and go to the restaurant that we were actually going to when we made this bad decision to stop here. After waiting forever for someone to take our drink order, my husband got what he is sure was a Pils in a Weizen glass (he wanted a Kristall Weizen). He asked the waitress but was told it was a Kristall Weizen. Believe me when I say a Bavarian knows his Weizen. Things only got worse as we watched people wait to pay - missing train connections, soccer games, etc. The place was not busy at all - it was Wednesday at 16:45 when we got there - about 17:00 when we got our drink and food order taken. I was there tonight and I left feeling disgusted.

They forgot my food order, which eventually came after nearly an hour's wait. Food was nice and good but I think the management should employ more staff as the girl who took my order got it wrong.

I was looking for anything free but usually, if such a thing happens in the UK, the management personnel would offer a drink, etc.

Worst is when it came to paying and I gave the senior waitress 20 Euros for a 17.20 Euros meal and she did not even bother giving me my change back and just said Service Was Not Included!!!

Now, this is what annoyed me the most as the service was absolutely rubbish, and I had walk over to the waitresses to ask for my food twice as they were rushing around like headless chicken.

For me, never again and it leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth that such service and forceful demand for tips are allowed in esteemed Germany.
