My husband and I had a last minute trip to Frankfurt from the US. Having lived in Baden-Württemberg previously, we are not strangers to German cuisine and fest food. We were happy to take the opportunity to enjoy some of the long-missed treats and gladly stopped by for some currywurst. The owner greeted us immediately and we placed our order and sat outside. He came out and we chatted for a bit. Very friendly guy! Yes, it is true that this is in the red light district and probably not the safest of locales at night, but during the day it wasn't bad. As long as you know this, you should be fine. The owner brought out fries, the currywurst, bread, and a little plate of mayonnaise, ketchup, and some of the most fantastic Senf that we have ever had. The fries were fresh and crisp, nicely salted, and I swear I detected a light dusting of sugar. It wasn't sweet, but instead balanced out the saltiness perfectly. The currywurst had just the right amount of curry and spice. We enjoyed every bite! Easily the best Currywurst, Pommes, and Senf that we have ever had. If we could only replicate it back in the US, my tummy would be very happy. Should we make it back to Frankfurt, this will be one of our first stops for sure!

Gute Currywurst mitten in Frankfurt a.M. ! Würde klar ein Menü empfehlen, wir hatten die Rindswurst, Pommes, Brot und Getränk für knapp 12 Euro (April 2024) Preis / Leistung insgesamt gut, da man ordentlich satt wird. Geschmacklich die Rindswurst voll in Ordnung, habe ich aber auch schon leckerere gegessen, das gleiche trifft auf die Currysoße zu, die aber sicherlich selbstgemacht ist. Wir hatten Schärfegrad C und D genommen, ich sage es ganz ehrlich wir fanden selbst D kaum scharf, aber keine Garantie ob das sonst auch so ist. Die Pommes waren wirklich gut, schön dick und es gibt auch eine gute Saucen-Auswahl. Das Brot frisch und lecker. Bei den Getränken gibt es neben dem Standard-Programm auch leckeren Eistee, den zumindest wir so nicht kannten. Es gibt nur Stehtische, was aber voll ok ist. Personal sehr freundlich. Leider im Bahnhofsviertel natürlich in der Straße ein nennen wir es schwieriges Ambiente, sollte man sich bewusst sein. Positiv bis morgens um 6 geöffnet, wir waren auch zu später Stunde da, wir hatten mal Lust auf so etwas,

독일 여행의 첫 목적지 프랑크푸르트에 도착하여 호텔 체크인 후 가장 먼저 찾은 곳. 저녁 식사를 위해 호텔 근처에 있는 커리부어스트 식당을 찾아갔다. Currywurst taunus 25. 밤이 되면 더 어두운 분위기가 되는 거리에 있다. 벽면에 둘러진 작은 바형 테이블에 3-4개의 의자가 있지만 우리 외엔 아무도 사용하지 않았다. 손님은 모두 남자였고(거리 전체에 거의 남자밖에 없다) 다들 바쁜 일이 있는건지 서서 빠른 속도로 소세지를 먹고 떠났다. 다들 어찌나 빨리 먹던지 우리가 한접시를 비우는 동안 새로운 손님 두셋이 바뀌었다. 음료는 셀프. 냉장고에서 꺼내먹고 나갈때 먹은 만큼 계산하면 된다. 다들 먹은 음료수 병을 빈 박스에 알아서 넣고 계산하길래 우리도 그렇게 했는데 주인 아저씨가 달려와 잡아주면서 땅큐~ 땅큐~ 를 외쳤다.보기보다 밝고 친절했던 주인장. 독일에 왔으니 벡스 맥주. 맥주 종류가 많지는 않다.오프너는 냉장고 옆에 끈으로 매달려있음. 종이 접시에 담겨 나온 커리부어스트와 감자튀김. 구운 소세지 위에 케첩과 커리케첩을 뿌리는 간단한 요리. 1949년 베를린에서 만들어졌고 독일 전역에서 유명하다고 한다. 맛있는 양념의 소세지. 상상했던 그 맛이다. 맛있네. 빵도 함께 내어줬는데 너무 딱딱하다. 소세지, 감자튀김만 먹어도 배가 부른 상황이라 먹지 못함. 입에 착 붙는 못된 맛. 아이들도 좋아할 것 같은 맛있는 못된 맛. 이걸 먹으면 뱃살이 한 점 더 붙을 것 같은 맛이지만 자꾸 손이가고 맥주를 부르는 강렬한 소세지 요리. 두툼한 감자튀김에 고소함을 곱절로 올려주는 마요네즈. 나쁜 맛이 계속 이어진다. 손을 뗄 수 없는 맛. 감자튀김을 이렇게 맛있게 먹을 일인가. 냉장고에서 맥주를 한 병 더 꺼냈다. 이렇게 묵직한 음식을 옆 손님들은 한 입에 밀어넣듯이 금새 비우고 사라진다. 맛있게 먹었지만 한식과 다른 느끼한 묵직함에 소화가 안될 것 같은데. 블랙님과 둘이 커리부어스트 2종, 맥주 네병에 20.6 유로(26,700원 정도). 저렴하게 배 가득 채우고 걸어서 호텔로 복귀. 잘 먹었습니다.

This place is located in a dodgy red light district and it was empty when we arrived. The server (not sure if owner) was an energetic guy who seemed nice at first but beware! He told us it was cash only and sent us to an ATM nearby, which seemed pretty dodgy so we aimed for another one but it had a pretty hefty fee so we decided not to withdraw the money. The whole time we were outside, the server (owner?) was watching us and when we told him we won’t be withdrawing the money, he shouted at us in an aggressive way, gave us a few bad comments.
