★★★★☆ A Delightful Asian Fusion Experience with Minor Hiccups
During my recent visit to Frankfurt, I had the pleasure of dining at IZU Asian Bistro, located in the bustling MyZeil shopping center. The restaurant boasts a vibrant ambiance, adorned with charming decor that sets a welcoming tone.
Food & Flavors: The menu offers a diverse range of Asian dishes. I opted for the Peanut Coconut Chicken, which featured tender chicken pieces enveloped in a creamy, flavorful sauce. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and added a nice crunch to the dish. My companion chose the Pad Thai, which, while tasty, leaned on the sweeter side and lacked the traditional tanginess we anticipated. Portion sizes were adequate, leaving us satisfied without feeling overstuffed.
Service & Atmosphere: The staff were courteous and attentive, ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. However, there was a slight delay in taking our order, possibly due to the lunchtime rush. The restaurant’s location within a shopping mall means it can get quite busy, leading to a lively, albeit noisy, environment.
Overall Experience: IZU Asian Bistro offers a delightful culinary journey with its array of dishes and inviting atmosphere. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in balancing flavors and managing peak-hour service, the overall experience was enjoyable. I would recommend it to those seeking a quick yet satisfying Asian meal in the heart...
Read moreI went here with my husband. The nice ambiance and the price of the food made us choose to try it. I think it’s the best looking restaurant in the building. We had high expectations. The food looks delicious. The portions are very small. The server spilled the sauce of my husband’s order. He politely said sorry so it’s okay but we didn’t got any refill for the sauce… sauce was runny, not like the normal teriyaki sauce. the mr teriyaki is also lacking the taste. Maybe because we are asians and we know how it should taste like but the portion for 16 euros is just very disappointing. I ordered pad thai. It tasted okay. A little bland for what I’m used to but what was disappointing to me is that it costs I think 11 euros but there is not a single meat in it. Was expecting a traditional pad thai with some chicken cubes and shrimps for that price. I know they described the food in the menu but for the price I expected the traditional one. And online I saw the picture of their pad thai with shrimp. We didn’t get full and for the price. Maybe for europeans this restaurant is okay, but if you know asian food, you might get a bit disappointed. Don’t expect a normal german portion. Cozy place but I...
Read morethe restaurant is beautiful, comfortable and food is delicious. the big problem is the staff, today I when there with my family after hole day of walking, once we get to restaurant the service was good, but one of the waitress disrespected us, trowing the food and things to our table, making discomfort faces when we ask things, but with other people he was kind and happy. my bottom line was when I ask for package or container box to bring some food to go. maybe my English not so good. he bring us the box and throw it on the table with a face of displeasure towards us. I didn't feel welcome, as if my family and I weren't worth anything. I was quite angry and we left instantly after paying the bill. And they had the nerve to ask if we wanted to tip. In my life I will return to that restaurant Even if they give me the food for free. the worst experience...
