The Struwwelpeter Museum is a small museum located in Frankfurt, Germany, that is dedicated to the popular children's book "Der Struwwelpeter" by Heinrich Hoffmann. The book, which was first published in 1845, is a collection of cautionary tales for children, featuring characters such as the "Struwwelpeter" himself, who is a boy with wild hair and dirty clothes.

The Struwwelpeter Museum is housed in the former home of Heinrich Hoffmann, the author of the book. The museum features exhibits on the history and cultural significance of "Der Struwwelpeter," including original manuscripts, illustrations, and other artifacts related to the book.

The museum also features interactive exhibits and activities for children, including a playroom where children can dress up in costumes inspired by the book's characters and act out scenes from the stories.

The Struwwelpeter Museum is a unique and fascinating destination for families and anyone interested in the history and culture of children's literature. Its location in Frankfurt, where the book was originally published, makes it an important cultural landmark in the city, and its exhibits and activities provide a fun and engaging way to learn about one of Germany's most beloved...

An absolut must! So much more than just an exhibition about a drawn character. The Author led an interesting life and did so much more for the world, than just entertain with comics. The museum is cleverly done and it is for adults and kids to enjoy. Free WiFi and an audioguide (App to download) where you can choose between a quick and a long tour. Staff is great (let us Store our Big backpacks, while we were there) and a...

Einfach...

We all have gone through our childhood. Many of us have read the the book Struwwelpeter (or Shock headed Peter) or other stories from Heinrich Hoffman. This museum brings us back to our childhood. Wiith the well narrated English audio guide, I could enjoy my childhood memories. Don't miss the interactive setup behind the showcase walls. Especially kids would enjoy it.

Informative and fun museum all about Shock headed Peter (for us Brits) or Struwwelpeter for his proper name. There is an app and free wi-fi to do a tour in your own language as the written info is in German. Well worth a visit if you are in the area to learn about a very important and educational part of children's literature!
