Five Guys Burgers and Fries Hamburg Jungfernstieg — Restaurant in Hamburg

FIVE GUYS Jungfernstieg 41 Hamburg ZENIA was the front of the house host and talked with us in English so I can understand and she also could speak German with My host. Zenia could speak many many languages and has lived all over the world! I’ve been to many five guys, but I’ve never met anybody from the Restaurant staff, greeting all of the customers at their tables and asking if they have any questions and talking to them about other five guys products.

We had quite a wonderful conversation about shakes and the different flavors that are brought out for different seasons,

Zenia created a wonderful experience for us and I will be visiting five guys more frequently in every city I visit and even my home City of Encinitas CA

The bathrooms were amazingly clean and beautiful as they are in every FIVE GUYS and the french fries were hot and delicious and just freshly made as they are every time I visited a FIVE GUYS

I love the soda machine because I only drink gas water and it’s wonderful to be able to get different styles, and my host loves trying different drinks

Of course the hamburgers were as amazing as you could imagine Hot and really well-made and delicious.

Thanks FIVE GUYS for keeping all of your restaurants, immaculately clean, run efficiently and having a wonderful environment for folks to get a fantastic hamburger at a really terrific price. But best of all, to have a host talk to your customers so they feel welcomed and cared for Beyond just...

Very disappointing experience. It all started with their card machines breaking so they only accepted cash - ok, it can happen. Therefore I decided to make an online order and so I was able to place the order with card. It all seemed good until I got my burger. It came without a hot sauce because apparently they run out of it.

Now, I can understand them running out of an ingredient (although it's very surprising with a sauce that has quite long shelf life and doesn't need to be fresh). I'd expect that when it happens, such ingredient will be blocked in the ordering system (bloody cheap McDonald's can do that). But ok, I'd still give the store some break. The reason for the one star rating is what followed. No one called out my number to ask whether I'd like to replace the sauce with another ingredient, or perhaps cancel my order. They simply made the burger without the sauce, served it to me without any apology or even telling me that they've changed my order, and when I came to complain that my burger lacks an ingredient, the staff simply said "there's no hot sauce". That's it. Solved.

So I've paid 20€ for a burger that tasted terribly bland because the entire "combination" I always order is relying on the presence of the sauce. Staff just didn't care. Skip the ingredient, hope the customer won't notice it and if he does, just shrug your shoulders. Very premium...

We had really high expectations to be honest, nevertheless the experience was below everything.

When you step in the whole restaurant smells like roasted beef but not in the nice way. When you step out you smell like you made your burger yourself (which would have been the better option).

The girl at the reception didn't really understand me at all. Ordering a Grilled Cheese Sandwich for 4.75€ I was expecting a little more than just a burger bun with two slices of cheapest Cheddar cheese (in total worth perhaps 0.20€). Everything was packed in aluminium foil despite the fact that I decided to eat inside.

So in total: odd smell expensive disgusting (this was a joke) bad service unsustainable
