Unfortunately, my individual experience was very upsetting due to the misbehavior of some waiters.. they feel upset because of your small order and can insult a customer in front of the public due to this. They can refuse to serve you for no logical reason. contradectory to popular belief law ( freedom of contract) allows them to do so. You will never feel like a loyal customer. You are commonly seen as a sign of dollar. Even though you complain to the owner, they just ignore it completely. The price is quite high, and coffee is bitter tasting. Atmosphere it is just nice and might be the reason...

Ich bin etwas hin- und hergerissen, wie ich dieses Café bewerten soll. Positiv waren die Auswahl der Speisen, zwar eher etwas höherpreisig sind aber handwerklich tolle Tortenauswahl und die herzhaften sind wirklich lecker. Habe bisher Cappuccino, Kuchen und Salat probiert, die Portionsgrößen waren gut. Und jetzt (leider) zu dem Negativen: Ich bin leider schon 2x an eine sehr unfreundliche Bedienung geraten. Das war eine Asiatin und da ich auch eine Asiatin bin, habe ich besonders freundlich gegrüßt und angelächelt, es kam einfach kein Lächeln, kein Hallo gar nichts zurück. Ich dachte mir: ok, vielleicht schlechte Laune gehabt? Und habe einfach nur meine Bestellung aufgegeben. Dann beim 2. Mal habe ich einen fertigen Caesars Salat (Preis war ausgeschrieben bei 15€) aus der Theke bestellt und dachte, damit ich ihr keine Umstände mache, nehme ich es so abgepackt mit, statt es dort zu essen. Sie hat mir dann einen höheren Preis genannt, da noch der Preis für die Verpackung (Pfand) drauf kam. Was ja an sich nicht schlimm war, weil ich es nicht wusste aber dann hab ich sie gefragt, ob ich vielleicht doch hier essen könnte. Sie hat mich verärgert angeguckt und mit der flachen Hand auf den Tresen gehauen und ich war so verdutzt, dass ich kaum einen Ton rausbekommen habe. Ich habe ihr einfach nur noch meinen 15€ Gutschein zum Bezahlen hingehalten. Sie hat dann sichtlich "not amused" meinen Salat auf den Teller geschüttet und mir den dann hingestellt. Ich konnte gar nicht wahrhaben, was da überhaupt...

I liked the seating area upstairs, the coffee I was not that impressed by and it was the driest German streuselkuchen I ever ate to date.I found them a tad on the pricy side compared to other German cafés, and while it is no doubt popular something was off in the ambiance - like underlying tension (not the fault of the employees, as I've worked in gastronomy myself).
