EisCafe De Covre — Restaurant in Mainz

A lovely little corner with a diverse selection of tasty treats 🍦🍨 With a prime location for a relaxing outdoor experience, this Cafe is bound to become a personal favourite.

I had the Amaretto Becher, which was absolutely delicious and decadent with a lil kick of alcohol to round everything off. Really enjoyed it😋 The presentation in the stylish high glasses was also a visual treat.

The staff worked fast and were friendly. It was a pretty short wait to get our orders and during that time we enjoyed a bit of people watching. 😄

One of my favorite cafes in Mainz! The location (for me) is extra ordinary, I always chose the last table looking toward the garden and I sit there, enjoy the surroundings and read.. mostly all staff members are friendly, only one of them was extremely rude as he decided to reserve the table while I was still having my juice as a (polite?) way to ask me to leave or to order! I haven’t had my coffee and desert yet so I ordered it, but I hope they understand that they shouldn’t rush people out especially if...

Schon seit vielen Jahren gehe ich hier sehr gerne Eis essen. Es gibt hier eine sehr große Auswahl an verschiedenen Sorten von Fruchteis und Milcheis, von denen ich noch nicht alle Sorten ausprobiert habe. Aber ich habe halt meine Lieblings-Sorten herausgefunden, die ich immer wieder gerne esse, weil sie mir so gut schmecken. Außerdem gibt es hier eine große Auswahl an Eisbechern, Spaghetti-Eis in verschiedenen Variationen und sogar Eis-Kreationen speziell für Kinder. Im Sommer sitze ich gerne draußen vor dem Eiscafé (falls dort einmal genügend Platz vorhanden ist, denn dieses Eiscafé ist wirklich sehr beliebt) und für die kalte Jahreszeit gibt es auch genügend Sitzplätze im Erdgeschoss und im ersten Obergeschoss. Der Bereich des Eiscafés im Erdgeschoss könnte auch für Rollstuhlfahrer benutzbar sein, denn es gibt zum unteren Gastraum hinein keine störende Treppenstufe und die Eingangstür lässt sich weit genug öffnen. Allerdings stehen dort im Gastraum im Erdgeschoss sehr viele Tische und Sessel, so dass eventuell deshalb dort dann doch kein Platz mehr vorhanden ist, um mit einem größeren Rollstuhl hinein zu fahren. Weil ich am Schillerplatz sehr oft von einem Linienbus in eine Straßenbahn umsteige, mache ich auch gerne am Schillerplatz eine Pause - besonders jetzt im Sommer. Und dann hole ich mir im Eiscafé De Covre einige Kugeln Eis zum Mitnehmen und setze mich auf eine der vielen Bänke zwischen dem Schiller-Denkmal und dem Fastnachtsbrunnen ganz gemütlich hin, genieße das gute Eis und ruhe...
