The ambiance at Mito was truly inviting and unique. It felt like a journey to Japan itself. The service was friendly and accommodating. However, there was a slight delay initially in taking orders, prompting us to flag down a server to place ours. The food was a solid 5/5, the best Japanese cuisine we've experienced in Mainz so far. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were exceptional. The Sushi Sake Nigiri was outstanding; we couldn't resist ordering more. Really wanted to like this place due to high ratings and reviews! The good: Staff were so friendly and helpful - defo biggest plus. The vibe is cool, good decor and music in the background. The not so good: the food. We had a mango salad, which was a small bowl of mango strands and leaves in a soup like sauce. It was also too salty. Sushi- the rice feels a bit too tightly packed together. The fried prawns were rather bland. Rainbow rolls- only had avocado and no other colours (usually has salmon and tuna as well). It’s a shame as the place is so cute and staff so friendly. Haven’t tried the hot dishes so...

Fangen wir bei dem Getränk an: Mango-Minze? Leider nur Mango :/ aber dennoch sehr lecker und schön kühl.

Dann zur Vorspeise: Ich hatte zwei Arten Sommerrollen, einmal die mit Hähnchen und Avocado und einmal Avocado und Mango. Dazu bekommt man eine Erdnusssoße serviert. Die Erdnusssoße ist warm und sehr cremig. Sie ist total lecker und passt super zu den Rollen.

Die Rollen selber waren frisch und lecker und vor allem knackig. Ich persönlich hätte mir nur mehr von dieser Soße die auf der oberen Rolle ist gewünscht.

Zur Hauptspeise: Ich hatte Rindfleisch in einer Teriyakisoße. Die Soße war anders als ich sie kannte, sie war einfach würziger, was ich persönlich um einiges angenehmer fand. Das Gemüse und das Fleisch war sehr lecker. Das Fleisch selber schmeckte ein wenig als wäre er entweder gewürzt oder mariniert worden. Das Gemüse war knackig und viel. Und es kam vor allem heiß an dem Tisch. Und ich liebe es wenn die Teller groß sind, dann fällt mir nicht andauernd was daneben. Das einzige was ich nicht so mochte war der frische Koriander oben drauf. Ich bin aber auch kein Fan von Koriander.

Zum Ambiente: Es ist gemütlich, die Musik angenehm, man kann drinnen oder draußen sitzen.
