Going here fairly regularly. In the past I went with wine nerds, colleagues and even friends who don't like wine. The service and knowledge in times of Stefan and Markus was outstanding and spot on. You never felt pushed and besides your wine you somehow bought 4 bottles of overpriced (sorry guys, but it's just water) water anyway. I had so many memorable nights there and was rather sad when they went away. But I came back anyway because the wine list is (and that is still the case) outstanding. So I bumped into Justin on my next visits and had equally great nights and thought that the transition to the new team was seamless, different but still quite good and fun. Obviously I was excited to come back last night and have another great night at Grapes... Unfortunately it's not the same place anymore. The place was half empty and somehow we were initially pointed to sit right next to the door, which isn't really a great spot tbh. Nobody took our coats even though it was not busy. Then I had to ask specifically for the speciality list. In return we have been asked three times by three different people if we wanted food or more water. Glasses were topped up in a ridiculous rate and everybody was running around like there is a marathon going on. And where did Justin go? So I finally managed what I normally say as a joke and left after one glass. I'm aware that this is high level whining of the first order but I really liked this place and apparently it doesn't exist anymore and that is just sad. I hope they get their stuff together and maybe I will give it another shot in the future. Cheers.

Spontaneous Friday night visit. Elegant destination for wine enthusiasts, inside Cortiina hotel, in the heart of Munich Old City. Modern yet minimalist space with dimmed lights, with an intimate atmosphere that is very inviting for a glass or two. Menu offers a wide range of wines with small bites as well as proper dishes. Was not hungry, so went for asparagus soup, which I paired with a glass of delicate South-African Poffader — simply divine. Plus point: staff gladly accommodated our special requests to ensure the best possible experience. Will come again.

One of the best wine bars in Munich. The good thing is that they are open all day long! So it is the perfect spot for a nice glass of wine between lunch and dinner in case you don't know where else to go. They have a great selection of wines and their staff is very knowledgeable and know which wines to recommend depending on your taste. We haven't tried out any of their food yet but if you spend time in Munich this should definitely be a staple. Ambiance is cozy, service is good and the overall atmosphere is pleasant. Location is also super central.

Ended up here after bailing on a beer hall. Such a better choice for our last night in Munich. And very grateful for their walk in communal table.

Cozy, sophisticated, warm atmosphere, with some great art. Looks like a nice patio in the summer too.

Wine was unsurprisingly, great. The menu spanned a few cultures (some French, Spanish, and Mediterranean), but dishes from all were excellent. Cauliflower hummus and beef bourguignon were wonderful on a cozy cold night. Bread was a little too good.

Service seemed a little slow/harried but it was a busy night, with a lot of people at the big centre table. No one seemed to mind hanging around too much. Would come back, and reserve one of the big couch-style...
