Schiller Bavarian Beerhouse — Restaurant in Munich

I'm surprised how this place has such a high rating. Maybe we was just unlucky, but i really didn't enjoy my experience there. It was like a snow ball of bad experience. It started with me ordering the dunkel beer and when i tasted it, it was sour. And since it was my first Munich visit in quite a while i thought maybe my taste changed. I've asked the waiter and he was responsive and checked the beer. He agreed that it was bad, apologized and brought a new one. I appreciate it. New beer was okay, but nothing special. Same was with the white beer i've ordered next, just to taste it. It was not as good as i've expected, but okay... one can drink. Do we get a worse beer just because we were a tourists?

Then we ordered some food and i've ordered schnitzel for my friend. And i definitely point to the schwein (not kalb) schnitzel in the menu. They brought the food pretty fast. We ate it and it was okay, could not say anything bad for the food quality or portions. The problem started when we wanted to pay. They put kalbschnitzel in the bill, which is like around extra 8euro. It is obviously not a big money, but i was just annoyed by this attitude of bad beer and bringing the more expensive dish and then saying that it is our fault that we should notice it and ask for the change. But we just relaxed and probably for my friend it was the first schnitzel in his life, so he definitely could spot the difference. This really felt like a tourist trap. Also overall this place has a little bit pricier, then other places. Not too much, but yeah, it just adds additional sadness to the whole picture.

In terms of beer: i've checked my taste later this evening in another bierhaus and next day in another one. And both dunkel and white beer was so much fresher and better, so yes, my taste was...

Had a terrible service experience here.

First impression, we weren’t acknowledged at the door when we came in, and one of the waiters was blocking our path arguing with some other guests about something that had happened the previous day?

After eventually getting round him we were still not acknowledged by anybody, and there was no indication of whether we had to wait for table service or not. There were free tables available so we went at sat.

I assumed we could go and sit down at a table and get drinks at the bar, so I went to the bar. I asked to order a flight of beers as i had been looking forward to sampling a variety. The beer flight is shown on photos and on the menu - but I was told they don’t do that?

Before I could put in another order a waitress butted in and made the bartender pour her multiple drinks, literally cutting me off in the middle of my conversation with the bartender. Shockingly rude! No blame to the bartender she was clearly rushed off her feet and trying her best.

When I finally ordered 2 beers I was told I needed to go and ask for table service. No idea why. We just wanted to drink some beer - this is a brewery after all. Why can’t I order at the bar and take it to my own table!

So I went and asked for table service and was rudely told I had to wait, with no time indication. What a convoluted and unnecessary process to order a couple of beers at a brewery.

Put a sign up saying table service only or make a proper bar area, this is basically a restaurant and not a place to...

BEWARE AWFUL SERVICE Incredibly rude waiter. Came to dine here with my family tonight. The waiter was rude from the beginning. When my mother asked about the beer, he described it and just as she was about to say "I'll have..." he stormed off in a huff. He came back 10mins later and said "what do you want your food is already ready". He didn't even give her time to order in the first place! He then cleared the table with such (unnecessary) haste he tipped the plate into her lap. And then when I paid, he said very rudely "You know my tip isn't included in that" and I said "yes" because I was preparing to leave a cash tip. But because he didn't realise that, as we were leaving he sneered and clicked his tongue in my face to intimidate me. I felt like turning around and taking the tip back!

The man with the long curly hair was by far the rudest waiter I've had in a long time. Trying to intimidate and sneering at the customers as they leave. I can only say the reviews here must be paid and untruthful because the others saw this behaviour and...
