St.Ribs Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Munich

Typical overpriced mediocre Munich tourist restaurant. Interesting name, tattooed servers and cozy atmosphere, but not good at what people are actually there for. We had an inattentive server who was monosyllabic and didn't take care of us. For example you have to order BBQ sauce extra to your ribs which is in itself silly and extra expensive and he didn't tell us. As I asked if they could mix us a Tom Collins (which is the very most basic Cocktail/Long drink ever) he just said "Only what's on the menu!" as I'm a tourist and annoyed him. No "I'm sorry that's not possible", or "I'll will ask the Barkeeper" which would have been nice. The amount of drinks offered is very small. In this price category I expect different. The clientele is mostly white collar business types. The fries where thin and medium at best. The baby back ribs are served in an wooden dish-holder-like thing and getting cold the moment they are served. The meat is tender and the spices are ok, but the taste was overall bland. The meat was tasteless in itself and a bit watery. So overall not a real BBQ and more upperclass tourist restaurant. The cheesecake was awesome but tasted like convenience food and there was no note in the menu from which butcher the beef is coming from nor which...

Did have to think a while to decide on the stars 4 or 5? Here's why only 4 :

Service was nice and professional, quick and attentive.

The menu is just a tiny bit to small, I would have wished 1-2 more starters.

The starter rib-cheese balls was not bad unfortunately the weakest part of the food. Little bit dry and on top of fried food only mayonnaise I think e.g. some rib sauce could have made it more special. Also decoration with just 3 mountains of cut salad was only ok.

The ribs itself were good (beef short rib) the sauce was well balanced. I wouldn't say the best ever as they could have had more of a BBQ feeling (e.g. grilled / smoked or so) but overall good!

Portionwise it was just enough so it could have been little bigger.

Opted out for desserts as I wasn't into ice cream and other things didn't sound exciting.

Table greens as decorations have had their best day and we were seated in the middle of two other tables quite close.

Still a great evening, which was good but not spectacular...

Found the new restaurant on Instagram. Based on the content I had high expectations but somehow got a bumper arriving at the location. A bit strange that the advertised pictures about the furniture were different from the Instagram pictures. Especially the chairs. Second strange thing, multiple signature cocktails have been advertised but actually none could be served on the menu. The available cocktail was more like a long drink, mostly water. But now the good staff, we got a nice table and I ordered the 4 person ribs. Awesome, tasty and realy enough meat for 4 hungry persons. The fries were fine as well. Just the size of the side dish coleslaw need to be adjusted. We got a glass full 😂 like 100ml for 4 persons. That's not something a restaurant should save on.
