Brasserie Lorraine — Restaurant in Athens

A stressful experience. My friends had booked a table for the 20:00-22:00 slot. I arrived 20:05 and one friend was missing. At 20:20, while my friends and I were carefully reading the menu the hostess of the restaurant came to our table. The tone of her voice was very impolite and I felt she was being disrespectful. She informed us that as our reservation was due to 22:00 we will need to contact by phone the one friend missing (who arrived anyway a bit later within a couple of minutes) and order already our starters and main courses. I was shocked by the fact she was not suggesting but giving commands on what to do. She never came back to check on us.

We ordered six starters to share. The waiters were kind but they had orders to serve very quickly. The starters were coming with such a fast tempo that a proper culinary experience was unable to be performed. While we were still eating our last starters (around 20:50) the waiters were putting at the same time on the table the cutlery for the main courses (literally at the moment I was holding the fork to eat my food). By 21:00 sharp the main courses arrived and we finished eating around 21:15.

All of us were shocked and mad at the management creating us this stressful experience and decided to stay seated and optimize the time of our reservation slot.

The food was quite good but definitely cannot be considered pure french gastronomic cuisine “du patrimoine culturel” as it had many misleading tasting twists.

It’s a shame that the management did not allow a normal experience and if they cannot offer that, they should not have time slots for the reservations.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant as guests during a celebration, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. While we couldn’t capture any photos, the memories of the evening will stay with us.

The food was exceptional—every dish was crafted to perfection and full of flavor. The ambiance was simply stunning; it felt like we were transported to Paris, surrounded by a romantic and elegant vibe. Adding to the magic was a talented singer who brought an extra sparkle to the evening.

Great looking place but too expensive for what it offers. Hit or miss with quality. The duck a l'orange belonged to the dessert menu, not the food menu.

Staff was mostly ok until we were told very rudely to leave because the next reservation had arrived while we were in the middle of our dessert. No polite reminder somewhat ahead of time. We were basically told to pay and get out immediately.

This is what happens when you even convert your bar to dining seating. You don't have anywhere to sit someone while they wait for their reservation. Unfortunately the night was ruined by poor planning on the management's part, excessive greed, lack of foresight and...
