Cantina Social — Restaurant in Athens

A great place, but a waitress tried to scam us with the prices of the drinks several times.

I was recommended to visit this place by a queer greek friend who lives in the city. In the beginning we fell in love with it, the atmosphere and the music was amazing and it fell like a little safe space in Athens for the queers.

The turning point of it all, was when the prices of our drinks kept changing during the different times and days. Sometimes we got asked to pay 24 euros for two drinks, and immediately after, just 15. At some point, we decided to tell the waitress that something was weird, cause she/they asked us again for 24 euros, after the day before we got the drinks for 10 euros less. To what she replied “That’s not my problem, but yours”. We decided to stay there and have our drink besides her really disrespectful comments and treatment. The cherry on top of the pie was when we left, she made sure to wish us “A bad night”.

Definitely not going back there neither recommending it to anybody else. Hope they change their stuff, cause the place has a lot of potential and it was, in the beginning, one of the few safe spaces for queer people that we could find...

Needs more seats. Prepare to stand. Beers are 4€ draft. Carlsberg 5€. Mixed drink more. Coke 2€. Lighting is not the greatest. Ambiance is nice. Music is decent. Can't hear it from outside, muffled at best. Long wait times to take drink orders (low staff). Overall I loved it because I'm not picky and it was my good friends going away party. Outdoor area is breezy like a typical backyard in Barcelona. Nice area overall....
