What a gem of a restaurant, seriously 5 stars all around. We were a party of six and we all agreed that this was an amazing meal. The food was fantastic. We started off with bread and olive tamponade. This is probably the only place where I didn't love the food, The breas was good but not my favorite. The tamponade though was delicious and this is coming from somebody who is not always a fan of olive oil, I know, I know I'm in Greece so I will do my best to eat like the Greek people and it was worthy of a try. We moved on to the appetizers, we all have a little taste of something, and of course delicious. For a meal we all had again something different, anywhere from moussaka to the beef and orzo and a clay pot to the stuffed peppers and tomatoes. Again fantastic. Seriously try the beef with orzo, it was out of this world. We definitely left room for a dessert, the baklava is made in house and is just right, not overly sweet and obviously fresh. The orange cake, the same, delicious, sweet but yet light. The chocolate dessert was very rich and decadent.

Petro, out server along with two other assistants, helped us move through one delicious plate to the next with grace, a little sarcastic and good recommendations all around.

Basically don't miss this...

We had our New Year’s Eve diner at Daphne’s. Generally speaking, we had a good time but I would not recommend this restaurant.

First, there seemed to be no Greek clients. The place is a bit too touristic to my taste . No surprise though as it is located in Plaka.

The food is OK but nothing to be remembered of. When I made the booking, it was clearly stated that the New Year’s menu cost 68€ which seemed reasonable. Nothing was mentioned about the wine. It turned out that the cheapest bottle of red wine was 55€ … almost as much as the set diner itself ! We managed to negociate a slightly cheaper bottle at 44€ but all together I thought it was a bit of a rip off.👎

Waiters constantly pour wine into your glass even if it’s only half empty, hoping you would soon order a second bottle. A bit annoying. 👎

At the time of paying the bill, I felt embarrassed not leaving a tip. I usually don’t tip and on that specific occasion, I don’t think tipping was justified. 👎

Finally, I thought the music was way too loud and I regret there was no intereaction at all with the band. 👎

All in all, I do not recommend, although the experience might be different on a ‘normal’ evening. There are, IMO, much better...

Found this gem on our last night before heading back to NYC. Excellent spot. Beautiful Alley in the middle of a busy street with shops but feels like youre in your own cozy spot. Great host who was very friendly. Homemade bread and kalamata paste started things out nicely. Verrrry attentive staff. Never was out of water. Fans keep it cool. Cheese donut appetizer was incredible! Gemista also a good traditional starter (stuffed tomatoes and pepper with rice) Stars were the main courses though. Wife got the gilted seam bream whole fish. Fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The crayfish orzo... Amazing. Ton of crayfish and the tomato based sauce was extremely flavorful. My daughter raved about the golden snapper. "Best fish of the trip"! Fresh veggies and nice touch with the forbidden black rice. Finishing it off with orange cake (very moist and delicious) and chocolate cake. And the staff singing happy bday to my daughter! Thank you Daphne's for making a memorable last dinner of our trip. ...

During my holiday in Athens, my dad and I had the pleasure of dining at Daphne’s Restaurant, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the waiters made us feel incredibly welcome, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that enhanced our evening. The food was absolutely delicious from their pasta to their Souvlaki. It was the kind of food that you can only describe as to die for! Inside, the restaurant had a charming and elegant ambiance, with stunning imagery from Pompeii adorning the walls, which I found fascinating and extravagant. It added a historic touch. One of the standout features of the restaurant was its beautiful outdoor area. Even in February, it was wonderfully warm, thanks to their excellent outdoor heating, making it the perfect spot to enjoy the stunning views while dining in comfort. Overall, Daphne’s is an amazing restaurant with breathtaking views, exceptional hospitality, and food that will leave you craving more. If you’re ever in Athens, this is a must-visit spot!
