Incredible Food, Warm Service & Breathtaking Views – A Perfect Dining Experience Thepsis in Athens completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional — the food, the service, and the views all came together to create a truly unforgettable evening. Every dish we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The ingredients were clearly high-quality and handled with care — authentic Greek cuisine with a refined touch, yet still warm and comforting. We loved every bite. The service was just as impressive. The staff was kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great experience. Their recommendations were spot-on, and we felt so well taken care of throughout the evening. And then there’s the view — absolutely stunning. Sitting on the terrace enjoying incredible food made this one of the most memorable meals of our entire trip. Five stars without hesitation. Thepsis is a must if you’re in Athens — we’ll definitely be back!

As the lovely waiter put it "Not tourist food". We found this little gem of a place just by walking around the anafiotika neighborhood. It was busy, but scenic and looked like the perfect place to end a day in Athens. Despite the huge amount of people waiting for a table, we were seated almost immediately and given a lovely table on their terrace. After being given an amazing chefs greeting snack (which is usually just bread and olives) in the form of a savory pasty bite sized cake, we ordered sweet wine that reminded us of porto. The waiters were clean, professional and kind, gave us all the time we needed to choose a dish. In the end we went for lobster with barley and a wild mushroom risotto as well as baklava. Overall we payed 88€ for a wonderful dinner, the only thing I'd love to have had is a blanket since the wind did hit a little hard where we sat. But! I'd definitely recommend for a evening romantic dinner.

I had lunch at this restaurant, after coming across it by chance while wanting to explore the neighborhood. It sits in a small shady square, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Plaka, which I really liked. The prices are generally the same everywhere, but its quiet location appealed to me. There were actually not many people, which is normal since the afternoon was already well advanced. I appreciated the choice of a few vegetarian options, which is not always so easy to find (apart from mezze) in Athens. I ordered stuffed eggplant with cauliflower bolognese, with french fries on the side, and everything was delicious! All servers were pleasant, polite and professional. The toilets were clean. I recommend this restaurant for a well-deserved break in the day, after a long walk.

I can’t say enough good things about Thespis! After dining there one night in 2019 upon recommendations by our cousins, we were so impressed, we came back a second time before leaving Athens.

Since we weren’t able to have a large gathering at an event space in 2020 (or even 2021) due to Covid, we decided a dinner for ~25 people at Thespis could be a good replacement for those guests that felt comfortable enough to gather when we would finally make it back to Athens in Summer of 2022.

Panagiotis, the manager we spoke with, helped us organize the seating options, listened to our hopes for the menu and wine/beer expectations, and allowed us to bring our cake and dessert to be served by the restaurant, and then with the help of the other managers and staff, trimmed our rather extravagant pre-order to a more realistic size. Note: we still took a lot of food home (which we were thrilled about because it was delicious and helped us eat like kings for the remainder of our days in Athens on this trip).

We told them the budget we’d like to stay within (mostly worried about how many bottles of the better wines we might’ve gone through), and they helped us build the menu to suit, but in the end, we didn’t even get close, as portions are generous. The value for the quality and quantity of food is amazing!

The location was selected because it’s walking distance from the Acropolis and the streets of Plaka where we would be taking photos before the dinner. The sunset hour and location under the Acropolis just added to the magic of the night. Our service staff was very accommodating and communicated with me through the night to make adjustments on the fly regarding what the children wanted, our guests' wine preferences, and food changes.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a well-equipped menu with delicious choices all over it, or to anyone hoping to host a large dinner for a celebratory or important occasion....

We where 4 people eating at this restaurant and three of us thought that they had forgotten to season the food, we would be fine with this if it weren’t for the exclusive theme that they where going for, you would expect some good food for the prices that they had but. The amount of food we received was also so little that we felt that we had to go and get a pita gyro after just so we wouldn’t die of starvation. The staff was kind but unprofessional and forgot many things that we asked them, for example we asked for the check to pay for our overpriced unseasoned food he said he would go get the check but we waited for 40 min and he had just simply forgotten us. Again this wouldn’t be such a big deal if it weren’t for being advertised as being something more fancy and exclusive, you would expect the staff to be decent at their job. I personally wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they want a nice view which is about the only good thing...
