Kobra — Restaurant in Athens

We visited the place on April 15th, a party of two. This is one of the biggest disappointments of the year for me so far. We got:

1. Pita bread with butter and oil. The bread was fluffy and tasty but the butter was not premium
2. Caesar salad: Literally a whole uncut lettuce with a LOT of tasteless mayo, 4 fish and some bacon and parmesan. Disappointment no1
3. Fish of the day (tuna) with ponzu and jalapeños: this was actually quite nice
4. Raviolini with eel: a nice idea and quite tasty but it was missing something it would blend all the flavours together
5. Calamari grilled with beluga lentils: The worst plate of all. Calamari was chewy and lentils were EXTREMELY salty. We drank two glasses of water just to wash the calamari down. The lentils were inedible
6. Fried octopus with taramas and fermented ketchup: Both the octopus and the batter were tough. It was better than the calamari but still not good.

Adding insult to injury, service was amateurish and the pricing is exhorbitant for the product offered. When you want to charge people 50€ per person first you have fo perfect your cooking and then improve the ambience. Will not go again and definitely...

Visited on the second weekend after 5 months of lockdown for restaurants. If you choose to take a bite here, along with small children, you should reconsider. No feeding chair. However the owner was very polite and explained he will make sure to get one. No kids menu option. I asked for a plain cheese toast and the waitress told us that they cannot do it. Before we left the owner explained that he felt bad that my child was left with no options and it was a matter of missunderstaning between the staff. Very small menu for brunch with only four options of sandwiches. We had two out of four. The breakfast brioche - tasty bun soaked in butter with a small portion of tasteless scrumbled eggs and a piece of bacon. Second choice if ours was the egg toast - yummy bread, soaked in butter, with an egg, some avo and a bit of onion. Actually it was a toast that a 15 year old could have made at home. Huge luck of inspiration. Huge luck of taste. Overpriced for the portion offered and with no sides on most of the options. The owner and stuff were...

We went for lunch and there was only one option: poke bowl. I love poke bowl and we ordered three (we were three and this was the only option to eat). What came was a tiny portion of something that was definitely not a poke bowl, charged at 14 euros. The taste reminded me of greek gemista because of the type of rice used at gemista and the peppers. The only common thing with poke was the 5 pieces of raw fish. And one cannot eat this with chopsticks. I wish someone had asked us how did we find the food but they did not seem to care and the place was empty. Of course we had to eat something so we paid the crazy price and went next door to eat souvlaki... I felt so bad because I had dragged my friends to try this new place and it was so...
