La Pizzetta — Restaurant in Athens

Breakfast review. I'm easily confused. Greek breakfast is one of the great thrills of life. Cheese and yoghurt you'll find nowhere else, great tomatoes and cucumbers so flavourful, you'd swear someone genetically engineered them (hint, someone did, about a billion year ago, or not). So, my hotel sends me for my included breakfast to this Italian place ...roll with it I tell myself. It is what I get. The service improves well, after I get the "why are you interrupting me?" From the Barista. He comes good later. The breakfast is as pictured...home baked rolls that are pretty good overall. An egg that limps to the table, without the kind assistance of salt, fork or knife, or any other way to bring it home to the packet Melba toast that occupies the same disposable bowl. Condiments are strictly portion control, and margarine is what you will have. The coffee works. The whole thing says...

Pizza is ok (average) (that is a good rating compared to a great or excellent place). It is pre-made pizzas which are reheated when you order.

Unfortunately this is a (street kitchen) pizza place and not a pizza restaurant. If it was a pizza restaurant the food score would be lower.

Seating but in middle of street so other people walk right by where you sit and eat. Not a peaceful relaxing athmosphere.

The low one star rating as the place is way too highly rated and distract from much better...

Such a hidden gem! Where else can you get incredible, wood-fired pizza and barista-level coffee under one roof? The pizzas were perfectly baked with fresh, flavorful toppings, and the coffee was rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. The vibe of the place is warm and welcoming — you can tell they put love into everything they do. Whether you’re grabbing a latte and a slice or settling in for a full meal, this spot delivers. The stuff are some of the nicest people out there too. Can't wait...
