We sat at around 19:30 on a Sunday for a drink and hookah. Not many tables were occupied.
The place had a great atmosphere, loud enough music and a stunning view of Acropolis. The staff were friendly. However I cannot ignore the fact that Misafir is overpriced.
A basic hookah was 35€. (The average price in Athens is around 20-25€, you can find prices as low as 7€ on not central locations.) We smoked for about an hour and a half in total and the flavour was pretty okay. Also only a few of the ton of flavours listed on the menu were available. Around an hour after the hookah came I asked for the shisha guy to change our coals because the hookah was getting weaker as he didn’t bother changing them earlier. The hookah itself was pretty but totally not worth the 35€.
At the time we wanted to leave, most tables were full. I asked for the waiter to bring the check, which he totally forgot. Several minutes later I asked again. He took his time but he eventually brought it.
What do I face? A big bottle of water that they brought but we didn’t order and an increase of the 8€ price of my drink (a mocktail), compared to the menu price. +3€ to be precise. The waiter said that they updated the prices and forgot that one. Also in most places in Greece they ask you if you either want tap water for free or pay for bottled.
Although the place has many good factors, I’m not satisfied with the whole experience and I don’t think I will be visiting them...

I was truely amazby this place. We only had some drinks and shisha but looking at people’s plates, food seemed very tasty. I definitely will eat there next time.
1st thing, the ambiance! Amazing rooftop with masterclass decoration and a view on the Acropolis 🤩
Very cool music played and if you go there earlier in the evening there is some nice modern greek music and even some which are greek-arabic. Later in the evening they play some more mainstream music which is also nice. Though, as a greek myself, I’d prefer more greek music.
It seemed to me that it is a place mostly enjoyed by locals.
Cocktails were very tasty but the icing on the cake was our shisha!
Greatly done by a guy who has mastered this art. A lot of flavours available and also different grades of tabac. Entry level shisha at 30€ is DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
When they change coals they do a ritual like animation and even mix the tabac so that the experience goes on. Ice tubes are also available.
Imagine smoking your shisha while looking at the Acropolis and listening to « Ya Habibi by Kings & Despina Vandi » 😍
It was the BEST one I ever smoked!
I will return to this place and so...
Read moreThe best surprise for me on Monastiraki Square in Athens. From outside it looks like one of many restaurants, but inside it’s a hidden pearl. The place is very clean and well maintained. Even the toilet is in a very good condition. The view to the Acropolis is a plus, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I wanted to try pieces of different starters, but I wasn’t able to predict that already after three starters I’d be full. Everything was so delicious, but I would especially like to recommend dishes that have the word “Misafir” in their names (Misafir spring rolls, Misafir burger etc.). Those are creative interpretations by the restaurant’s chef and one can easily feel some added “little extra”. I’m writing positives because I wasn’t ready for such a nice experience today. The design, dishes, music and atmosphere are top of the top. For sure I’ll be back here and I think this is a place to take your loved ones to make them happy. Last but not least, I really liked service here. Everybody was polite, but I was served by Takis. This waiter is a right person on a right place. His smile, personal charm, politeness and personal interest in customer made me want to stay longer. I’m sure his boss is satisfied having...
