🇬🇷 Quick & Pretty Meals Near Acropolis/Syntagma Square

We went here for our first and last meals in Athens. Our first meal was a 5⭐️. We tried the pork skewers in a pita and the meat was tender and juicy with great flavor. We also tried the traditional sausage and beef/lamb skewers which came with bread. The skewers were both delicious, highly recommend giving the traditional sausage a try as a skewer. We also tried the greek salad which tasted great. The vegetables and cheese were incredibly fresh. The bread here also was the best in the city. At the end of our meal, they gave us a free shot of ouzo which was nice. Now the reason for dropping the one star; we went here for our last meal before leaving the city. We ordered two skewers (traditional pork and picanha beef), two pitas (pork and traditional sausage), and spicy cheese dip. The order got mixed up several times which ended up with having making us pay more for items we did not order unfortunately. The food was good, but the spicy cheese dip was a bit too rich and the pork in the pitas were very pink in the center. Our second visit seemed very rushed and the quality went down a little. Overall, I think this place was good with very reasonable prices. If it's busy the service you receive may just be a little lesser.

THANK YOU THANOS!!!! For a wonderful experience as soon as I walked in the door!!! When you walk by, you can see locals sitting by the entrance so you know it's good, but you can smell the delicious meats cooking on the grill that draw you in!!! Thanos was sooo helpful because it was only my 3rd time eating souvlaki. there's so many outdoor tables for you to enjoy your meal as well! not only that, the manager of the day was a kind gentleman named Thanos from Thessaloniki and he walked me through the different options I could get: my favorite is the chicken souvlaki with all the vegetables: the chicken was delicious - I told Thanos it was the best souvlaki I ever had in my life - and the pita was warm and toasty - like a hug from my grandma. The fries they put in my souvlaki were PERFECTLY crispy and the Mythos beer was delicious!!! I ate 2!!! They have the beer on draft as well!!!!! You have to go here, it's a hidden spot that is sure to have lines around the corner once everyone finds out about this place!!!!

The beef kebab was an absolute standout! They are using oak lump charcoal to grille and the depth of flavours this method creates makes a gas grille taste like something made in a microwave. Trust me you cannot go back after tasting food prepared with charcoal. The young waiter I chatted with was very passionate about the quality of the ingredients and the charcoal grille and the end result really shines through. My first job as a young man was working in a very high quality family owned Greek restaurant and the Souvlaki here was exceptional by those standards. I did ask for a substitution as the beef kebab came with bbq sauce instead of tzatziki and the waiter happily agreed. Maybe the bbq sauce is amazing and I missed out but IMO why mess with a classic flavour profile. If I had one critique it would be to master the tzatziki and standout amongst the other souvlaki shops that way instead of using an alternative...
