As a place and location it’s quite nice. However it is the personnel attitude that wins the Golden Raspberry Award i.e. avoid-at-all-costs this establishment. We arrived at the facility at 20:15 where the waiter informed us the kitchen closes at 20:30 and the establishment at 21:00. We decided to grab a quick bite. Just as we were giving our order, another staff member notified us stiffly about the time restrictions. We had our bite and paid at 20:51 (time on receipt). As we were getting out I heard myself the (stiff) staff member asking the nearby table if they wanted some apple pie. There were also a couple of other tables joyfully enjoying their dinner not showing any sign of rush.
Being professional is one think that marks excellence; clearly this establishment has a LONG way in this direction. Being rude however or mocking me under my very nose is not acceptable in any circumstance or situation, professional or social. Especially so when I am paying to be served. I ‘d suggest the owners to read some manual about personnel appraisal in the service sector to start with, the staff to take some 3rd grader lessons on how to behave on interactions with the clients and any potential and hungry customer to reconsider their options, especially when within 50m (literally) there are very professional...
Read moreThe egg white and boiled turkey (was just turkey ham bits) was disgusting and bitter and completely inedible, so much so it felt like it probably was spoilt, contaminated or soap got in. I spat it out. When I tried to get one of the waiter’s attention to let them know something was wrong with the dish, he just ignored me.
When the original waiter that took my order came around, I told him that it was inedible and there was no service recovery, he said there’s no milk like I requested and I said that’s not the issue, that the issue was the egg was bitter and very off but he just looked at me like there’s nothing he can do about it. Out of principle I then asked for a courtesy discount because I was leaving it and definitely not eating this spoilt omelette and he said that wasn’t possible.
So I paid and left, just wanted to get out of this tacky terrible place. It was only 12€ for the omelette so I wasn’t going to waste another breath here but it was ridiculous to make your customer pay for something this off that they couldn’t eat a mouth of.
Hope they made one more and tried it themselves.
Other than this, the place was tacky, menu was weak and service was slow and flat. Don’t bother eating at a mall, go to one of the small great restaurants...
Read moreI was passing through Athens a few weeks ago and decided to take a break at The Upper House. The atmosphere is really nice, however, the waiter who greeted me at the entrance clearly had his mind elsewhere, was unwelcoming and rushed me. The menu is nothing special. I asked for an omellete and was told that it was past breakfast time so I had to order something else. On the menu it does not have seperate breakfast, lunch or dinner meals. Anyway I ordered a ceasars salad. Someone needs to talk to the chef. It was a bowl full of lettuce , with some chicken and cheese shreddings on top. Hardly any dressing and almost impossible to eat as it was coming out of the sides of the bowl. This cost 15 euro. Super expensive for a rubbish salad and really sloppily served. I also asked for fresh orange juice which came in a chipped glass. So I gave it back and was offered another one. This cost 6 euro. So 21 euro. The prices are really expensive for the quality, the kitchen staff need to be retrained on the quality and the presentation of the food. Care with chipped glass. That said the young waiter who served me was super pleasant and I wish I could give more stars just for him because he was interested in...
