My family and I visited Athens from New York the week of Thanksgiving. Tonight, on Thanksgiving Day, we were looking for some food that would remind us of home and have plenty of options for the whole family. Ya Zhou did not disappoint! From the minute we walked in 30 minutes before close, the staff was so welcoming and kind. They offered us a table, brought us one of the ubiquitous heating lamps that are indoors and outdoors in Athens restaurants, and made sure that we were comfortable. We never felt rushed. The menus had gorgeous pictures of the wide variety of options of foods from the Asian Diaspora. My husband and I had Szechuan chicken, and our kiddos year had vegan raman and a sushi roll. I also ordered the duck spring rolls and a large thom yum kang soup for the table. Everything we ordered came out piping hot and freshly made, and it was all sooo delicious. When we were dine and ready to leave, they made sure that we took some of the soup and a few spring rolls that we had left over so that we could eat it the next day. Overall, I would highly recommend Ya Zhou to anyone who is in Athens and looking for delicious home cooked Asian food and lovely welcoming service. Best of all, as we were leaving, the woman who seemed like the owner wished us a very Happy Thanksgiving! 5...
Read moreThe restaurant serves mixed Asian food but really good surprisingly - with big menu normally can’t be that good, I personally don’t go to a restaurant with big menu!!! But this is an exception!!!Consider to come for experiences and give them feedbacks. Last night I came for some Vnmese fried rolls and Japanese food: Gyoza, sashimi and beef ramen. Vnmese fried rolls were good (as good as in Vietnam - I’ve been there!). Sashimi was really really really fresh. Gyoza was delicious not like the frozen ones from the supermarket…And ramen, OMG I was searching for a decent ramen bowl the whole time and that was the very few times close to perfect (much much better than So so ramen - which is so random just to make sell): noodle is completely hand-made and close to the chewy level of real hand-pull noodle, the broth is fantastic, harmonized in flavors - not too salty like So so ramen, egg was soaked in soya sauce which is actually the right way to enjoy egg in ramen bowl. Telia. Visit the restaurant, have a great time, treat yourself with different cuisine & excellent services…and don’t forget to give people there feedbacks. They will be happy to do their best and improve from time to...
Read moreI came here tonight with my wife for our last night in Athens. First of all the service was amazing for how busy they were. We ordered the bbq pork bao, fried chicken bao, chicken gyoza, beef pho, sweet and sour chicken, and 2 rolls of sushi with lemon teas. The bao’s were amazing and packed with so much flavor. The chef certainly takes so much pride in the food he is assembling. The chicken gyoza had so much flavor and spices. I’m so glad I ordered the beef pho as the broth was very delicious and I could tell that’s a broth that’s homemade with love and care. The beef in the pho was so tender I couldn’t pick it up as it kept falling apart. I cannot remember the sushi rolls we ordered but they were both extremely fresh and flavorful. My wife was still hungry as she didn’t order a main course so she ordered the sweet and sour chicken and that too was awesome. The chicken was very lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and sour and the rice! Rice was cooked beautifully. What an amazing restaurant right in the heart of Athens. Thank you again for a...
