Directly on the tourist trail, this souvlaki and gyro grill serves some very tasty and nicely spiced meats. The Gyros (pork or chicken at E4 in April 2025) were substantial as well. Pita nicely toasted. Our preferred (informal) souvlaki grill in old town Chania down near water. It’s right by the Chania fountain. Great service. Friendly. The pork portion on plate with fries, a little salad, pita and tzatziki is quite nicely marinated and tasty. There is another grill round the corner that’s very good and might be open later into night. Also, I realise it is a gyro place but there are many vegetarians out here too. So they should be well...
Read moreIts one thing to have bad souvlaki and gyros, and another thing to gaslight your customers into thinking that they don't have developed taste buds to get the concept.
I am from Greece and made the mistake of trying this horrible souvlaki. I got told by the waitress that I am not used to cumin in the gyros instead of an apology for this abomination. Badly cooked meat, horrible tzatziki, terrible wrapping job, hilariously overpriced.
Avoid at all costs....
