Craft Beer - Kapheneion — Restaurant in Municipality of Heraklion

We visited this place for the second time, coming all the way to Heraklion especially for the craft beer bar. Since we had children with us, we arrived early and were happy to see online (Google, Facebook, etc.) that the bar should open at 11 AM.

Unfortunately, just like the first time, the staff seemed overwhelmed by early guests. On this occasion, we were asked to wait for 15 minutes, while the focus seemed to be on sweeping leaves and cleaning tables instead of offering us something to drink. Even after asking several times, we were told again to wait and that the bar only opens at 11:30 AM – although this information is not listed anywhere. I have already suggested a correction on Google.

When we tried to give some feedback (for example, that paying guests should be served first), it was dismissed with: “That’s not how I work.” Sadly, we decided to leave, and this was probably our last visit. It is a pity, because the place has great potential, but here the guest is clearly not treated as a priority.

my husband and I were in town for 1 short night to catch early morning ferry. unfortunately, we didn't have the room key card and were locked out of the room for the whole night, so we decided to walk around the city, killed the night just like the movie 'Before Sunrise' - we found this bar at 1am

location ==around a corner, I felt it quiet a cozy and quiet corner, outside sitting area was very nice, so chilled, a good area to spend time with friends and chit chat.

my husband ordered another beer before they closed at 2am because we needed to kill the night until 0730 until the hotel people returns to open the door for us

staff == were so nice and sweet! after knowing our situation, the girl even refilled our beer, brought us some nuts and chips before she left!

Visited here on Friday. We ordered a few different tapas style dishes. The portions were ridiculously small. Nowhere near enough for two people. The quality was very poor of all dishes. The salad was just tomatoes and pea sized olives.The pork was tastless. However the shredded chicken was ok. The staff that evening were rude and incompetant. For example one of our dishes came after we had finished all our food even though we had asked for it as soon as our other dishes were on the table. They had forgotten. We also never recieved side plates to put our meals on. After payment when we was asked how everything was, when we tried to address the issues, the waiter just walked off and didn't even listen to any of our feedback. After reading all the good reviews, we were very disappointed with our visit and would not go back there again or even recommend...
