626 All Day Lounge & City Garden — Restaurant in Municipality of Heraklion

First we sat down not in the garden, but on the other side of the street next to the hotel, we waited for almost 10 minutes and no waiter came to us. After that we decided to go to a table in the garden there we also had to wait a bit to get the menu. After they gave us the menu it also took a lot of time for the waiters to come get our order ( we had to ask them to come to our table ) there were times when none of the three waiters were in the garden. The food was mediocre. We had a Greek salad wich was good and the bagel with salmon. The salmon was not good and the bagel in general just tasted like nothing. Therefore the two stars. The restrooms were clean!

Regarding waiting times- we witnessed that when we first sat down next to the hotel there was a couple sitting next to us, from the time we arrived till we left there was not once a waiter with them to take the dirty dishes or else!

I’ll start with the good part. Service - although slow (due to having only 2 waiters for ~15ish tables) was on point. Friendly,knowledgable and helpful. Complimentary cake was nice. The food on the other hand is average at best. Had vegan pastitsio with basically zero taste - add some salt next time - the bechamel alone wont do it. Chicken thigh pasta once again short on seasoning. Fries had the same problem. If they somehow managed to better the quality of food, add another waiter perhaps they have potential, as the place is...

We just stopped in for drinks. We had Mojitis. Not as sweet as we like, but they did the job. We sat outside, it was a beautiful day, warm outside with a light breeze. A baby kitty hung around us. Nice atmosphere, I'd come back and try the food. The bar is located across the street inside the Olive Green hotel where we stayed. Very clean and inviting.
