AGLIO E OLIO — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

Mixed feelings about Aglio E Olio. On arrival it looks the part in that the decor is quite cool. Nice twist on bread for the starter as its served with honey and chunks of pecorino cheese. Service felt a bit rushed as our main course arrived as we were still finishing the bread. Of the mains, my wife’s Risotto was tasty and the pizza my girls shared was good. My linguine vongele not so. It was bland and the clams pretty much cold. I very rarely send food back but given the clams being cold I did so. The waitress was very apologetic and said they would prepare a fresh dish. Ten minutes later a nice new plate of linguine vongele arrived, but exactly the same issue. After a couple of mouthfuls I left it. In fairness the manager removed the linguine from our bill and provided a complementary tiramisu, but I still left feeling that the service was a little rushed and the food only passable. We got here because of the vibe (only from outside) and we wanted goof pasta. when the waiter came we asked him if they have a pasta with tomatoes, the waiter replied in a very rude way “no we dont have!”, dueto the shock we had when he said that we thought that he was kidding with us, so we asked again while laughing with him, and he was even more rude with his answers, it made our experience very bad and we even wanted to leave! But we were so hungry so we decided to stay.

We ordered two different spaghetti’s The first one was drown with olive oil and garlic, we didn’t finish half of it

The other one was slightly better, with the shrimps tartar (which had unchewable pieces!)

The prices were very high 80 euros for the two dishes in the pictures, and one glass of wine!

Absolutely blown away- the food and service was incredible! The best place we have eaten in Mykonos by far. Waiters and waitresses were so attentive and the food is so tasty and the presentation was brilliant. I’m really shocked that anyone could have given this place a 1 star and considered the food average... it was miles above average and worth every penny. I wish we had found this sooner as we would have eaten here more than once to try more of the interesting menu.
