A Culinary Journey in Mykonos - Greece From the moment we arrived, guided by the charming Mr. Petro, we knew we were in for an extraordinary dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect backdrop for what turned out to be a memorable meal. I kicked off my culinary adventure with the dip sampler, which was a delightful introduction to the flavors of the Mediterranean. Among the offerings, the vine leaves and the star of the show—Zatziki—stole my heart. The Zatziki was nothing short of sensational; its creamy texture and tangy flavor had me ordering an extra plate just to savor every last bit. A true testament to how a simple dip can elevate a dining experience! Next up were the perfect grilled sardines. These little gems were expertly cooked to perfection, with a crisp skin and tender, flavorful flesh. Each bite was infused with a hint of smokiness that beautifully complemented the natural richness of the fish. It was a dish that transported me straight to the shores of Greece, reminding me of the simple joys of fresh seafood. For the main course, I opted for the whole grilled sea bass. Freshly caught and expertly prepared, the fish was succulent and flaky, with a taste so rich and buttery that I found myself savoring each bite as if it were a decadent treat. It was a dish that showcased the finest in seafood, leaving me utterly satisfied. The service was exceptional, too. Our waitress, whose name escapes me but hails from Athens, was genuinely kind and attentive, especially to my little one. Her warmth added to the overall ambiance, making us feel right at home. In summary, everything about this meal was fantastic. The combination of outstanding food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. Kudos to the team for maintaining such high standards! I can't wait to return on my next visit to Mykonos—this restaurant has truly captured my heart.

Kavos Taverna has been serving a variety of Greek and Italian dishes, specializing in seafood, since 1969. The restaurant is in Mykonos City on the way to the New Port. They offer covered seating close enough to touch the rocks of the marina and even get splashed by a naughty wave or two. Customer service was very good and food and beverages came out in a reasonable time frame. We ordered: Cocktails: Aperol Spritz, Rose Appetizers: Kalamari, Saganaki Cheese Mains: Margarita Pizza, Sea Breem (Fish-market Catch), Garlic Shrimp, Spaghetti Napolitana, Lobster (half order), Chicken Gyros Plate Dessert: Baklava The Kalamari was respectable but we really enjoyed the accompanying tartar sauce. We enjoyed the saganaki cheese as the kasseri cheese had try right consistency and was fried well. The honey accompanied provided a delightful balance of sweet and salty. The only problem with the lobster was that we should have ordered the full lobster option. My friend, a picky eater, finished his Spaghetti Napolitana before I could even ask to try. The Margarita Pizza was tasty. It was cheese forward but with just enough tomato sauce and the crust was just right in taste and crunch. The Garlic Shrimp was perhaps the best entre of a very good meal and I would come back to experience the sizzling shrimp prepared with garlic and olive oil time and time again. The Sea Breem was light and tasty with well-prepared vegetables. The chicken gyros plate was the only plate that was a bit of a yawner, but the potato fries were solid. The Baklava was good, but we had experienced more flakier versions during our trip.

This was an extremely disappointing dinner with a terrible ending. We had a family dinner planned including 2 birthdays in our party and thought this place would be a good place to go and celebrate based on the reviews, however the service and food lacked tremendously. As a New York food blogger, I always document my food and the service from start to finish ordering a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert to share the full experience. When I have a positive experience, and normally I would provide a social media shout out but this place did not get one. Initially I was going to order the garlic shrimp appetizer but our waiter insisted I order the shrimp entree instead. After we ordered, I tried to discreetly tell him that we had two birthdays in our group, but he completely lacked discretion. I was a waitress when I was in college so I understand the industry and how much it takes to deal with people and crowds of all kinds. If this waiter didn’t lose his temper on me I would have a lot less to say. His mannerisms level of professionalism as a waiter was so shocking! He made sure to tell me he has several hundred guests daily and on google they have over 3000 good reviews so I would be writing about nothing. My personal experience and feedback doesn’t count and obviously not valued in any way. After confirming nothing would be done, we asked for a takeout container and they brought us a plastic bowl without a lid. Wow. The audacity. We ended up giving the shrimp to the stray cats so at least they enjoyed dinner that night. I have included photos and a copy of our bill.

Top notice experience. Food was flavorful. We started with the trio dip. (Pro tip: order more pita) then got the grilled octopus and fried calimari and what made these stand out were what they were all paired with. Everything was fresh, light, and refreshing. We sat sea side and felt like we were alone. Tolis was our server and did a fantastic job making sure we had an excellent dining experience. The hostess was also very kind. She kept us updated when the next seaside table became available. I would come back here and recommend to all.

An absolutely wonderful experience. We were in Mykonos for one day on our cruise and just happened to walk by this restaurant. The menu is outside so we skimmed it real quick and my mom and I both saw something we thought we’d enjoy. Not one complaint on the food. The fish was deboned table side so you know it is cooked fresh. Not only is the atmosphere wonderful but the cats will come up to you and are very loving. if you feed them, they will stick by you for the rest of dinner. Would absolutely come here again if ever in the area
