Avgoustinos Gyros — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

So the thing is, I can speak a little greek. And here, we ordered the gyros (chicken) in english. they said 7.5 euros for regulat and Child menu 4.5. After few days we went again and this time I asked in my greek, the person said 4.99euros. But when a “greek” person came and ordered, they said 3,5euros. I heard it and checked online and could see the price is indeed 3.5 euros. When I asked them friendly, the price is different out of curiosity. They used alot of excuses which felt like a Lie on another lie.( its an Old menu, its another shop, its only delivery, it kept changing) Then a person from behind began to shout at us. Where we asked why they shout and shouting does not solve anything. They confronted us for the difference on their price… instead of being honest.

Gyros is okay in taste. Honesty is on level zero. Also the person removed our plates even though we still had few fries on the plate which then we went to the counter to pay and I explained what happened.

A gyros should have, tjatjiki, Meat, tomates, onions and fries inside it. (Not on the side, and you can ask to remove)

A gyros should also cost about 3-3.5 euros and not 5-10 euros. Always check their online and check the prices on efood.gr etc.

Do not pay more for something that...

Ordered from this place two days ago with my boyfriend, first thing I saw was a hair in the bag, we got disgusted me and my partner but skipped it though. Before starting eating I noticed the meat didn’t look that fresh (as greek I can tell when the gyros is fresh and when not) didn’t even finish my pita gyros starting eating the souvlaki I got and tasted even worse. Later in the evening I starting feeling pain in my stomach first me and then my partner (we were outside eating somewhere and we had to go back home because of the pain) it was around 10pm the pain wouldn’t stop so I tried to go sleep. Woke up half an hour later running to the toilet throwing up, 30 min later throwing up again and that was the moment I asked my partner to go to the hospital. Went there stayed for 3,5 hours threw up again, feeling horrible and shaking. Doctors said was obviously food poisoning. Called them two days later explaining everything, the owner didn’t accept anything, blaming me for finding another reason what caused my situation. Such a horrible person!! Also heard from people I know that had the same from that place. Don’t recommend...

Pay attention when you order. The gyros is good, but thr sevice is lame.

There is absolutely no sign that you cannot sit anywhere if you say 'takaway'.

I oredered a takeaway because I didn't want to make them give me additional plates and I wanted to make their job easier. When I got my 'takeaway' gyros and wanted to sit down and eat (it was 1am and there were plenty vacant tables eventhough it was a bisy night) the waiter approached and asked me to step away because I had ordered a 'takeaway'. I explained that I didn't know they had such rules as in my home country nobody would come and kick you out in such situation. He kept on insisting and forcing me to leave the premises. I asked if the price was different, but hr denied and said that the waiting time wqs the only difference.

Anyway, the waiter was persistant pusihing me away from the premises and I kept on asking if there was a sign and if I could pay and eat at an (already empty) table.

Very rude and impolite I must say.
