A Wonderful Experience at George's Tavern in Rhodes!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at George's charming tavern in Rhodes, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. From the moment we stepped in, George and his staff made us feel like family. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had that authentic Greek feel that made the evening special.

We started with some classic dishes—delicious tzatziki, perfectly seasoned stifado, and meatballs that were tender and full of flavor. Every bite was a reminder of why Greek cuisine is so beloved! To finish off, we indulged in a traditional dessert called ravani, which was the perfect sweet touch to our meal. And of course, I couldn’t resist trying the local beer, which complemented the meal perfectly.

Due to too much wind, our boat trip to Tilos was cancelled and we had to stay in Rhodes for one night. For lunch we looked up a nearby restaurant to our hotel with good reviews and soon realized that we had struck gold.

We were greeted by George, owner of the restaurant, and had a fantastic meal at George’s Grill House. After studying the menu for a while, George suggested that he could make a mix for us, setting up different Greek dishes. The food, cooked by George’s wife, was amazing. Both the beef stew and the lamb shank melted on our tongues and the Moussaka was the best that we have ever tasted. And what do they do to make the fries so perfect? Even our daughter of 13, that normally doesn’t eat much, ate like a grown-up. That speaks for itself.

Amazing place! My partner and I love sea food, so we decided to try here for their sea food platter for 2. It was reasonably priced and had a wide variety of sea food (sea bass, squid, mussels, octopus, large shrimp etc), it also came with potatoes (dont know what they were cooked in but they were delicious), salad, different sauces and oils, and vegetables. It was quite big... My partner and I have never tried lobster, so we asked if we could have some lobster on it too for an extra charge. The lady who served us said this wasnt a problem and she was happy to do this. We were only expecting a small amount of lobster because it is expensive but they gave us a lot more than we thought they would!
