Bit of a weird one this night. Booked on a Monday night so it was quite quiet which brings me to my first issue - there was no atmosphere. Maybe about 6 other tables located near to us, but it was like everyone was afraid to speak it was so quiet. On quiet nights like this the music could be a bit louder to boost the ambience I think. Moving on :)
We were sat and ordered within probably 5 minutes which was great! Drinks were served and were delicious - however, every table around us was served their food before us. We thought this was a little strange, finished our drinks and ordered more from the same waitress that took our order - gave her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps there was a delay in the kitchen. However, as my boyfriend and I were lost in conversation, it soon appeared to me that we had been waiting for …one whole hour… for baked feta and roasted sourdough bread. As I mentioned the restaurant was so quiet, how could this happen?
Flagged this anyway and received apologies and within 5 minutes our food came. I shouldn’t have had to flag this though. I only just left the hospitality industry in April of this year, where I was a restaurant supervisor of a Michelin Star Japanese restaurant in Ireland. It’s not the customers job to flag this. If the restaurant was busy I’d say fair enough, but with only about 6 other tables… and about 3/4 members of staff… how did no one realise.
Food was amazing as were the main courses, with the sea bass being the nicest fish either of us had ever tried. Then we ordered another round of drinks, and they didn’t come for 15/20 minutes. There was only about 3 other tables left at this stage. Sigh. We got a bit annoyed then understandably that they were basically after delaying us 1hr 20 minutes total of the evening, keeping us waiting, and at this stage we just wanted to leave and get faster service elsewhere.
Apologies were made, some explanation was given, all the staff were so kind, and who I’m led to believe was the manager told us our drinks would be free which was lovely, but all in all neither delays should have happened on such. A. Quiet. Night.
Such a shame because the food was amazing, and the staff were so so kind. So I’m still confused as to what actually went...
Read moreTo start with, I am currently being sick from bad food and so is my partner, so not a good start at all! Entering, the location is lovely. But sadly that’s all, after being sick multiple times both me and my partner we called the nomad Rhodes to ask for a complaints contact, for the manager to just be rude and tell me I can’t get food poisoning from octopus or steak tartare? So I’m totally baffled at the services or help I received, I asked for a partial refund but instead I was told I’m being rude for asking politely and I’m lying about being unwell, this has totally ruined our last night on our trip to Rhodes, I am strongly advising to not go here, I had really high hopes but sadly they fell short!
Also none of the waiting staff have no clue what’s in the food or cocktails and had to ask around for what they even offer on the menu?
I hope anyone who visits this place doesn’t have the Same end result as we did!
I would also like to add, as the response to this review is rather petty and childish(this isn’t Facebook) , I have also now been charged twice the same amount for this bill. As to the steak tartar, tobacco is a a known complimented sauce to go with the dish, which was also not half a bottle, it was a small amount to which the tobacco was in a jug also, not a bottle. I asked what one of the cocktails was on your menu and the member of staff told me she hadn’t a clue, I asked the next waiter and she told me maybe vodka and coke? So it’s not a cocktail? And to my plates being emptied, they wasn’t and that’s why you had to ask multiple times if the food was okay? But I guess you won’t write that here no? I’d also like to clarify, it was the overly fishy octopus that made us sick not the chewy “steak tartare”
So maybe instead of taking a bad review so heavily childish, have a good think about what may have caused this issue, then rectify, not...
