A Hidden Paradise in Rhodes Old Town – Socratus Garden If you’re wandering through the cobbled streets of Rhodes Old Town, do yourself a favor and seek out Socratus Garden – a hidden sanctuary that feels like a well-kept secret. Tucked away from the crowds, this lush patio garden is a peaceful escape bursting with life, charm, and unforgettable hospitality. The moment you step inside, you’re transported into a green oasis: tall palm trees dripping with dates, twisting olive trees, citrusy lemon trees, and a variety of vibrant tropical plants surround a lovely fountain at the center, whose soft trickle adds to the tranquil, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Adding to the magic is the gorgeous music – tasteful and mellow, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing lunch or a romantic evening. The food is as generous as it is delicious, with bold Mediterranean flavors and beautifully presented dishes that satisfy both the palate and the eye. But what truly makes Socratus Garden unforgettable is the warmth of the people who run it. Eorios and Panos are more than just staff – they are the heart of the experience. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do, they make every guest feel like a welcomed friend. Their knowledge of the menu, local wines, and the garden’s history adds a personal touch that elevates the entire visit. This place may be hidden, but that’s part of the magic – you have to search for it, and when you find it, you’ll know you’ve discovered something truly special. Final verdict: Socratus Garden is a must-visit in Rhodes. Come for the peaceful atmosphere, stay for the food, the music, and the hospitality of Eorios and Panos. Trust me – you won’t regret it.

Went here as it was recommended to me when asking a group about Vegetarian options in Rhodes and I was also told they this place "doesn't rip you off when it comes to drinks" and wow wow wow I am so glad me and my Mum went!! I had Vegetarian Lasagna and my Mum had Vegetarian Moussaka, we both tried each others dishes as well and really liked them, we ordered some potato wedges on the side which were lovely as well. You could tell both meals were made fresh, I even asked for no parmesan on top which they were able to do, absolutely lovely and only €7.50 each!! A great sized portion! Would highly recommend, they have meat options too and lots of drink Options, we just had an English Tea each. Absolutely lovely environment, covered in trees and flowers and mini waterfalls. There are a few cats roaming about like anywhere in Rhodes. You get a table mat which is nice as you know it's clean, the cutlery came in a wallet/envelope and the cutlery was warm so that was nice too. The staff were great and spoke English really well. There are Female and Male toilets, which were clean. Great atmosphere, Great food, Great Service...Happy Days!! 2 mains, a side and a tea each came to just over £20! Bargain! Especially for the old town area!

A hidden oasis in the heart of the medieval city. Tucked away along the storied Sokratous Street in the Old Town of Rhodes, Saratovs Garden Café-Snack Bar is nothing short of a delightful surprise. The moment you step into its leafy courtyard, the bustle of the city melts away—replaced by the calm rustle of trees, the gentle clinking of coffee cups, and the soft murmur of contented guests. The garden is lush and inviting, shaded by vines and ancient stone walls that whisper centuries of history. It’s the perfect stop for a mid-morning coffee, a refreshing lemonade, or a light Greek snack in between explorations of the Knights’ Street and the Grand Master’s Palace. The staff are warm and welcoming, with that rare, effortless Greek hospitality that makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Service is prompt, but never rushed—this is a place to linger, breathe, and enjoy. This is definitely uncomplicated luxury, a charming gem that deserves to be discovered—and remembered.
