A memorable culinary stop in the Old Town.
Castello Restaurant is one of those rare places where tradition, quality, and location come together in harmony. Nestled within the medieval walls of Rhodes, it offers a truly picturesque setting—perfect for an elegant lunch or a quiet dinner under the soft glow of ancient stones and starry skies.
The food is consistently excellent: well-prepared, flavourful, and beautifully presented. From fresh seafood to classic Greek favourites, every dish feels like it’s been made with care. The pricing is surprisingly reasonable for the area, especially considering the quality of the cuisine and the charm of the surroundings.
If there’s one area for improvement, it might be in the warmth of the service—it’s polite and efficient, but could benefit from a touch more Mediterranean cheer. That said, no place is perfect… and in this case, the overall experience more than makes up for that minor shortcoming.
Would I come back? Absolutely. Castello has earned its place on my personal Rhodes shortlist—and I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreStopped in and it’s busy, so I get slow service and the food taking quite a while (2 cold apps, and a fried cheese app took over 30 minutes to come out and the pizza we ordered came a minute later). But the pizza was horrible and when we asked for the check, no bill was presented, I tipped 10% and when the recent printed out it was 110 euro with tip! I asked to see a copy and the third person to come over finally admitted there error. They charged 66 euros instead of 6 for something. I’ve worked in restaurants that use hand held ordering and you don’t need to type in prices. So when they came back and said they accidentally charged 66 for something that was supposed to be 6 I found it hard to believe. They apologized and gave me 56.50 back in cash…. Not sure what happened to the extra 3.50 and tax’s or the 6 euros I tipped on that mistake BUT my family was tired of...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Castello House during my visit to Rhodes. The restaurant is in a beautiful location, with a spectacular view of the medieval walls and an atmosphere that perfectly blends history and warmth. The food was delicious. We tried several traditional Greek dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. The lamb was perfectly cooked, juicy, and aromatic, and the moussaka was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The portions are generous, and the value for money is excellent. The service also deserves special mention. The staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure we had a great experience. They were happy to recommend dishes and share insights about local cuisine. Overall, Castello House is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Greek food in a unique and historic setting. Highly...
