Opera Grande — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Decor is fabulous and it's worth a visit to look inside. I went twice... First for cocktails then liked them so much went for dinner.

The cocktails are great. I've had so many very average ones in Rhodes I was beginning to think a proper cocktail wasn't available. Thankfully these are great and reassures me I was just drinking in tourist naff places.

Also went for dinner too. This also is very good and I had a few stand out dishes especially the starters. Overall though I think some of the flavours got a little lost with too many creamy style sauces on each dish. My pork was a touch dry... a notoriously difficult dish to get right though. A little more refinement and this could be a proper high end gem.

So a few areas I would improve.... there is no need for a DJ playing loud music (admittedly not to my taste). Some background music would be nice.

Also I don't know much about Greek wines so seeing as there are no descriptions asked the waiter which to go for. He just suggested the most expensive which as he couldn't explain what it was I declined.... he looked at me in disgust, couldnt explain the rest so I just picked one at random. I think a wine expert is needed to help us tourists choose.

Overall...

Good service with a quick turnaround for ordering and serving. A wide variety of drinks with excellent brands at reasonable prices. Tasty complimentary snacks for drinks without an extra charge. While I didn't try the food, the main dishes seemed appealing based on the menu presentation. I was disappointed that extras for the main dishes (garnish and sauce) incurred an additional charge.

In my opinion, the venue is overly crowded, leading to a somewhat tiring atmosphere. In the enclosed outdoor area, where everyone smokes, entering indoors becomes inevitable. However, the issue is not the entrance itself, but the fact that because all outdoor spaces are enclosed, smoke permeates into the indoor area.

It's unfortunate, and I hope that customers will eventually understand the necessity of smoking outside any...

Hands down the best restaurant in Rhodes, would give this 6 stars if I could. Everything from service to food to cocktails to atmosphere was absolutely perfect. We asked if we could relax with cocktails before the meal and the waiter was more than happy to give us as much time as we needed and didn’t rush us. I had the steak which was divine and my partner had the lamb, both dishes were so so tasty. Desserts were also lovely. The waiter also gave us a complimentary cocktails at the end of the night which just topped everything off! We’ve booked the return and can’t wait. Highly...
