Me and my girlfriend chose to visit here during our Rhodes holiday as it is highly recommended by locals, and on social media. However, I can describe our visit as nothing short of a scam to make as much money from you as possible.
When we arrived, we asked the staff about sun bed availability and we were shown to a drinks table and told that there were approx 5 other tables waiting for sun beds. We were presented with a drinks menu and we ordered some drinks, my girlfriend went to use the facilities and then we both waited patiently for a sun bed.
The beach club does operate a reservations system to book in advance but this requires you to enter your bank details prior to arrival and also make a restaurant booking at the same time. However, having seen the restaurant prices, we did not want to be forced to commit to a restaurant reservation or input my bank details prior to arrival at the beach club; so we were prepared to wait and see what walk-in availability they had.
During our time waiting for a sun bed, we saw multiple people just walk into the beach club, pick a sun bed and make themselves at home after no interactions with the staff. We were then left for over half an hour whilst we waited for someone to take payment from us for the drinks we had ordered, despite politely asking numerous staff members; our requests were either ignored or met with nods and then left. When we finally got the attention of one waitress, we managed to make payment and then proceeded to ask about how long the wait would be. It was at this point where we met ‘Nelli’ - and what a meeting it was.
I can only describe Nelli as the most sour-faced, disrespectful battle axe of a hostess with lipstick that belongs in a 90’s knocking shop; and assume that Nelli was in charge of sun beds, as she was who we were directed to when we politely queried about the wait times. When we asked Nelli about the expected wait time, she could not confirm this. She further dismissed our concerns about the people that were just walking in and taking unreserved sunbeds (the reserved ones had signs). Nelli then became very rude and defensive and tried to accuse us that we were insinuating that she is not doing her job properly, which we firmly denied was the case and politely reaffirmed that we just wanted to know how long the sun bed wait would be (we had been waiting for over one hour at this point). Nelli then left to “ask the manager” if she can find something for us.
Miraculously, as if some sort of divine intervention had occurred, Nelli returned less than 2 minutes later and offered us an available sun bed at the ridiculous price of €60 (you can imagine mine and my partners horror when she said this), which brought me to my next query as we had overheard one of the staff members talking to a couple behind us (who had also not booked a sun bed) that there was no sun bed charge and they only had to pay for food and drinks. Nelli, however; displaying her best Amber Heard impression, told us that this could not be true (in other words, we’re now liars) and that there are two separate bills for sun beds and then bar/food.
Needless to say, we left after meeting Nelli and her feeble attempt to bleed my wallet dry.
All in all, whilst the aesthetic is absolutely beautiful - it is completely ruined by the lack of respect and tolerance from the staff (most of whom did not even smile or welcome us in any fashion) and this place is only further ruined by its crazy prices when Casino Beach next door offers similar luxury at half the price, if not more. Unless you want to spend a lot of money and be treated like scum, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. You can get sunbeds with parasols for €20 and beer for €3 at most beaches in Rhodes. In contrast, if we’d stayed at Elli Beach; we would have racked up a €75 bill on just two drinks and a sun bed, before even considering what food costs might have been.
Elli Beach Club, do better and please sort out your customer service. We did not feel welcome and I would not recommend your...

I am a solo female traveller. I spent the first two days of my trip at Nor Project. Good and smily staff, good food too. Very important they give you normal cutlery set with your food. One sun bed cost me 20€ per day, together with an umbrella, of course.
Elli World was recommended to me on arrival in Rhodes since it seems to be the most popular around here. Alright! I booked a sun bed for one of the following days - I did this online.
On arrival, the girls on reception don’t seem to know how to smile, however I was taken to my reserved sun bed and umbrella. The waiter came around and left the menu on the table - don’t know how to smile either. I ordered the rustic breakfast - feta cheese, sun dried tomato and smoked turkey on a toast of bread. I was given wooden set of cutlery - good luck with slicing that toast through with that knife. I ended up eating it by hand. 🤷🏻♀️… it was good, but nothing special.
In the meantime, I was given a sun bed on the very last row, next to RONDA, the neighbour beach bar. Both beach bars are, of course, playing their own sets of music so throughout the entire day, inevitably, I could hear both which was not nice at all. The mixture of that music from both places made my head explote by the end of the day as I didn’t know what to listen to.
A few hours later, I ordered lunch - Cesar salad. Another set of wooden cutlery, another struggle. Good luck with trying to get those big salad leaves poked with that fork. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat this by hand, so I had to get on with it. Salad was okay, I meant what can go wrong with Cesar salad…
Afternoon, I ordered an iced latte and the bill. The “smiley” waiter tells me that my bill is 99€…
What?!?! What did I order?!?! To my question of how much does the sun bed cost, I am now being told that is 60€ for both sun beds…
What?!?! But I have only used one. The answer: they go by the set and you cannot pay for just one… I am now being charged for 2 sun beds! Wow… shocking!!!
Why was I not told at reception?!?! Aww… they don't know how to smile, but tell me that I have to pay for an entire set?!?! The reservation was made for 1 person, of course! They knew I will be on my own.
I had no other choice than pay! And I did as a good customer, however, I will never recommend this place to anyone as it felt like I have been robbed and surely I have being.
A few questions raise in my head after this experience and after being able to compare both places. How sustainable is Elli and how many pairs of those cutlery they go through in one day?!?! I mean, are they lazy to wash cutlery so they give you those wooden sets?!?! Apart from being difficult to use and not user friendly, I don’t find this being sustainable as they are constantly creating waste! Very planet friendly! May be the next thing they will introduce is paper plates….?!?!
Why they did not advise me that I have to pay for an entire set knowing that I am on my own? Or may be, because it was a Monday and the place was not packed they decided to just charge me? Don’t I have the right to know this in advance? How would I know if I they don’t tell me?
Staff - overall not friendly, not smiley and more on the rude side… food - nothing special! I dont mind paying the money if service is spot on and food is of good quality too, but boy… this place cost me almost 100€ for the day and definitely not worth it! Robbed, this is what I was!
Ladies toilets - very dirty! If I could give them 0 starts I would…
Next day! I am back at Nor Project! I have my sun bed and my umbrella at 20€. The waiters are happy and always helpful, just what I am looking for!!! Food - good sizes plates, very fresh! Menu choices - very...
Read moreWe had reserved three beach beds in advance and were really looking forward to our visit. The location is stunning, and the setup of Elli Beach Club is stylish and comfortable. The drinks, food, and beach beds themselves were great — everything looked and tasted high-quality.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the rest of the experience. Despite having a reservation, it took more than 20 minutes to receive our first drink while we were already settled on the beds. What made it more frustrating was that we noticed a clear difference in how guests were treated.
The staff seemed to give much more attention to certain groups of people — mainly those who looked more affluent or “Instagrammable.” These guests were regularly checked on, served faster, and engaged in friendly conversations, while others, including us, were largely overlooked.
At no point did anyone come by to ask if we needed anything — we had to get their attention ourselves each time. To top it off, the server asked us directly for a tip at the end, which felt quite inappropriate considering he hadn’t approached us once of his own initiative during our stay.
There were also moments where staff seemed more focused on chatting with familiar or preferred guests, which only made the difference in treatment more noticeable.
Considering the premium prices, we expected more consistent and professional service for all guests. The uneven attention, long wait times, and the awkward request for a tip really impacted the atmosphere and made us feel a bit out of place.
Elli Beach Club has a lot of potential — great location, good food, and stylish vibes — but the service experience needs serious improvement before we’d consider...
