I found this place definiitely overrated, after experiencing various restaurants in 10 nights in 3 towns of the island. As a group of 3 persons, we ordered tzaziki, dolmades, fried sardines, grilled octopus, and one glass of ouzo. 10 minutes after the order, the waitress first served the ouzo (already added water and ice without asking. But it's okay) The problem: they served tzaziki(=starter) 20 minutes later. So you either drink your ouzo into your empty stomach (This is definitely neither the way to drink ouzo in Greek culture, nor is healthy for stomach) or you should watch the ice is melting (during 20 min waiting the starter) and changing the taste of ouzo. Another 20 minutes after tzaziki, she served grilled ocopus as main dish of one person. When one of us finished octopus (another 15 minutes), she served sardines and dolmades. I came to Yiannis upon reccomendation of a friend but I and my 2 guests became disappointed. The staff in the open kitchen (2) and waitresses (2) and the boss-lady were not enough in numbers to give a good service to around 40 guests at the same time. Timing, organization and service: Really disappointing Taste: Okay (Tzaziki: 4/5, Grilled Octopus: 3.5/5 but there was 1 leg on the plate, not 2 as in menu picture, Dolmades: 2/5, Fried Sardines: 4/5) Prices are reasonable, taste is (just) okay. If you wanna try this place, come around 6 pm when the tables are empty (maybe service is...
Read moreI was planning to eat a dinner here, but because I was alone, they did not give me a table and said just a "later". There were around five empty tables at the inside part that no one probably wants to sit, and they even did not want to give one of those tables to a single guest. Anyway, no idea about foods but I can definitely say that they were not acting welcoming. Couples or crowded groups can try for sure, the atmosphere was looking nice.
Edit after response: No, I have no reason to lie. I walked inside and ask for a table for one person, and the old lady said directly "later" and did not accept me. At least there were five free tables in my point of view but it was looking like a strategy, because she did not look around to understand if there is a free table or not. She directly said later and did not accept me, so why I have to turn back there again? There are plenty of nice restaurants in Rhodes, so I made a dinner there. You can not write with capitals and say I am lying, just ridiculous. It would be better for you to speak with each other as a team and decide how to react against solo travelers, next time you can choose to be KIND instead...
Read moreRude! I haven't had the chance to eat in this place, but after what happened, it will be the last restaurant I would go to. I tried to enter the restaurant just to ask whether the toilet in front of it was available. A lady tried to stop the waiter to talk to me (no clue why she did it) but the waiter kindly answered that it was actually public so I just needed to insert a coin to enter. After a while I tried again to enter, and they kept staring at me like I did something wrong. I asked just for a hot tea to take away, but apparently I bothered them because of this request (again, no clue why). When the tea was ready, the lady called me in a very rude way to tell me the tea was ready. I tried to pay with 10euros, and she started to yell at me, angry because a 10 euro banknote for a 1 euro tea was inappropriate to her. I've been in a lot of restaurants in Rhodes and everyone is tremendously kind and welcoming, whereas these are the worst people I have ever met in this beautiful island (except for the waiter who was very kind...
