This bar is so far removed from an Irish it isn’t true. Have been here a few times as I go to Kamari twice a year but the last time (in May) will be my last and here’s why.. My girlfriend and I started chatting to a couple next to us who were from close to back in England. We were chatting and laughing for about half an hour until the manager came over and said we need to leave because there were complaints about noise from places nearby. The couple thought he was joking as it seemed so outlandish. There were no profanities, the couple just had a loud laugh. When asked if we could stay if we toned down the laughing, he said no and walked off. It was ridiculous and shocking. We asked the barman to get our bill so we could leave. In fairness to him, he seemed sheepish, and ashamed at his manager’s actions. All around the pub are signs intimating to have a good time, live laugh love etc but they don’t like it if you do. No proper Irish pub would throw you out for laughing too loudly. Have been to plenty of Irish bars across the word and it’s normally encouraged. The Irish would be embarrassed at such nonsense. I vlog about santorini and I will be making it known to all and sundry to avoid...
Read moreFirst and foremost...DRAFT GUINESS!!! 😆 although it's almost double UK price!! Table service only. Nice little extras like a small jar of mixed nuts on the table. A small Irish coffee when you settle up. Those little details that add up.. food menu is a good mix of Greek and UK / irish, including an Irish brekkie, and average local prices. Nice touch is they show UK and Irish sports on half a dozen screens. It's sheltered and shaded with plenty of misting fans adding to the cooling effect. Found this place after only 3 hours off the plane and ended up back there twice on day 1. (Today is day 2 ( 20.6.23) great atmosphere. I have no doubt we'll spend plenty more hours here before we leave. £25 - £30 for the 2 of us. 2 drinks each.. not tried the food yet.. update and...
Read moreThis is a decent little bar in Kamari where you can keep cool away from the hustle and bustle of the main street but it's about as far from Ireland as Santorini is. The food is ok, you can get toasties or a burger which makes a change to the typical souvlaki and gyros which is hard to get away from on the island, but don't expect traditional Irish fare. It's more of a decorative theme. They have plenty of screens and they show multiple football games so get there early if you want a seat to watch a match because it will be busy. The toilets are down a set of stairs so be aware of this if you have mobility problems but the rest of the bar is pretty much flat. It's clean, tidy and reasonably priced so it's not a bad place for a pint plus they give you a shot of coffee...
