Well, I can only imagine what the delicious looking food here actually tastes like, because the pathetic service drove us away before we could order. Before we even sat down, my wife and I asked the server about how long it would take to make food after we ordered. He replied “20 minutes.” Okay, great - he seats us, tosses 2 menus on our table and immediately disappears.
We wait for 10 minutes. He’s no where to be found. We’re hungry, sure, but he appears to be the only server in the joint, so he may have a lot going on. Another 5 minutes passes - we finally see him, and he’s moving a couple glasses and other items in the back by the bar. He practically looks like he’s illustrating a slow motion film sequence - no urgency what so ever. (Sigh).. Okay, we give him at least 5 more minutes, and - Oh, now he’s laughing and doing shots with the bartender. Great...
And that’s when we put our menus down, stood up, and left. We couldn't even have our order taken. I’m not sure who runs this place, but you have a clueless, 20-something year old kid that’s slacking off and really damaging your reputation. At least 20 minutes pass (and I believe it was quite a bit more), we’re not even offered something to drink, and meanwhile, you have 6-7 tables full and absolutely no service is offered to anyone.
Here’s about as clear-cut advice as I can offer anyone reading these reviews: If you stop by this place, see this same kid server - or a couple employees goofing off by the bar - keep going. Find...
Read moreI was accused of not paying my bill. I went to this place and had gyros, a drink and ice cream in their restaurant before going to use their sun beds. I was there for about 6 hours altogether and paid for my meal and ice creams before I went down to the beach and sun beds. I was with a group of 7 people. I left a bit earlier than the rest of the group and had to return soon after as the workers were accusing me of not paying my bill. They were very rude and not apologetic in the slightest. I had to walk 10 minutes back to the restaurant in a boot as I had an ankle injury as they didn’t trust my family in saying I had paid. They were trying to blame me for a mistake the restaurant made on their behalf and poor communication. This was the second time I had eaten in this restaurant during my holiday and I was disgusted with the treatment I received. They were giving out to me and not listening to me in front of the general public and everyone else. I had to show the bank statement and receipt before the workers believed I had paid my bill. Ridiculous. They did not even offer any compensation for their behaviour or...
Read moreMegkan in Kamari is an absolute gem! If you’re looking for delicious, pocket-friendly local Greek and Italian food, this is the place to be. The tzatziki with warm pita was incredibly fresh, the Greek salad was bursting with flavour, and the chicken gyros—hands down the best in Kamari!
We had 2 beers, 2 glasses of Vinsanto, one tzatziki, one pita bread, one Greek salad, and one chicken gyro—and our total bill came to just €38. That’s an amazing deal for the quality and quantity of food, especially right on the Kamari promenade.
The service was fast, prompt, and super friendly—Emanuel took great care of us and made us feel right at home.
Megkan is also well known for its ice cream and desserts, which looked absolutely tempting—we’ll definitely be coming back to try those next time!
Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Kamari and looking for great food without the hefty...
