The bay is so beautiful and peaceful. It is a must visit in Santorini. You get the charm of the local town dowm by the bay with a nice secret.... well it's becoming more well know, swimming and platform jumping or diving area as you walk pass all the restaurants.
We drive there and parked on the side of the road only like 10 cars from the bottom (very close), and that was around 10:45am in July. I know you can also get to the bay by going down 300 steps, but no way, it was way too hot. I heard you can take a cab there and back for about $10 each way.
There is a path that goes around the corner, but make sure to wear sneakers or prefer water shoes because it's a dirt and rocky path. I did wear sandles, but would pack water shoes for going in to the water.
There is no Beach area just rocky spots so bring a towel. It was cool to see people bring snorkeling gear and water floating devices. I wish I had a floating raft to drift around in...haha.
The swim to the little island to jump off the platform is about 100yards. I'm not a great swimmer so it was nice to have found large underwater rocks and other rocks along the island every 30 yards to talk a break from swimming. You can doggy paddle. The entrance to the platform is around the corner and it is a small boat dock and mini church. There was a blue metal ladder to help you out of the water.
I was nervous just like everyone who faced the fear if jumping off this 2-3 story high platform, but I ended up doing it three times!
Oh pack a GoPro or a waterproof phone case if you want to capture this wonderful place.
One if my favorite places and moments...

Hygiene Issues: The path is often littered with donkey excrement, which creates an unpleasant smell and makes it difficult to enjoy the surroundings.
Safety Concerns: The donkeys are not well-controlled, and there is little regard for pedestrians. It is difficult to avoid the donkeys on the narrow stairs, as they often come too close for comfort. The man guiding them doesn't seem to even care a bit about that.
Animal Welfare: The donkeys are left in the sun for long periods without adequate care, and their treatment raises serious ethical concerns.
This practice reflects poorly on the bay and tarnishes its reputation as a beautiful and welcoming place. In conclusion, while the bay's natural beauty is undeniable, I strongly urge for a banishment of the donkey...
Read moreThe view from the restaurant is very beautiful! The sunset in June sets behind the rock on the right and is not as beautiful as the sunset over the sea and on top of the island to the left of the landscape, as shown on the restaurant's Instagram.
The house wine is definitely worth it, like other places that offer house wines. It always meets expectations and, in our assessment, it's better than the wines on the wine list, which cost around 50-60 euros, for example.
The food itself is disappointing. The octopus, which is the main highlight of the place, is only available as an appetizer and is not good. It doesn't match the incredible scenery and the house wine.
In summary, it's worth visiting this place for the view and the house wine, but don't have high expectations...
