I'll start out by saying the food here is absolutely FANTASTIC! A five star meal, for sure. I highly recommend the desserts, too. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as incredible as the food. The staff were very friendly and kind, but we were seated on the side where the kitchen is. It's an open kitchen, so rather loud and the chairs and tables are high, like bar stools, but not at all comfortable for people who are short like I am. I think asking to sit on the regular restaurant side would be best. We had one person order steak, but there was no beef available, so that was slightly disappointing, but it does happen. However, the dishes took over an hour to come out of the kitchen and when they did, we (4 people) were served at different times, so three of us were finished eating by the time the fourth plate came out. Due to the tardiness of the meal, we finished at nearly 8, which is when they close. The waitress cleared the table and brought the check without being asked and we had to ask if it was possible to have dessert. It was definitely more of a "hurry up and leave" feeling. Wonderful food and service. We have been dining at Romeo y Julieta for about three years and we always have a great meal. Chef Ivano from Verona makes all pastas fresh in the restaurant and he and his staff will treat you like you are home. Try the squash raviolis—they are sooo good! The spaghetti bolognese is flavorful and its pasta is cooked to perfection. The arugula salad with figs, caramelized walnut and goat cheese is divine. Very tasty food and nice restaurant. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and fettuccine pesto. The carbonara was average size and the fettuccine pesto was a very small portion. The bread did not come until the meal was over half gone. The portion was so small that all the bread had to be consumed by the fettuccine pesto order to make a normal size portion.
