Went last summer to this place. First of all, it wasn’t packed, I think there were only three families, a few couples, and some solo diners. The ambiance was really great; it felt calm and peaceful, and everything was very clean. I didn’t see any dirt, leaves, or insects.

The staff that night? A+++++++++ Honestly, the best service I’ve ever received. They helped me with everything and even explained how the food was prepared—in English—which was A+++++. The food was amazing. This was one of the best dishes I ate in Central America when I was there (I had the ceviche, no stomach issues at all!).

I still remember that I had paid in cash, but then realized I needed the cash the next day for transportation. I went back to ask if I could pay by card instead, and without any hassle, they opened the register and gave me my cash back so I could pay by card.

Wow! Maxán prepares DELICIOUS and beautiful dishes in a great atmosphere of a restaurant. Each dish was exquisitely prepared, with carefully placed and perfectly selected herbs and adornments. The kitchen is open to view, running smoothly, in a clean and organized environment. These are top chefs creating art. The best part is the focus is mesoamerican fusion. They take traditional dishes from Latin America with heirloom ingredients and give it a fresh preparation without trying too hard. Best restaurant experience in Antigua! When you look from the outside you’re already impressed by the beautifully decorated patio. Once you walk inside you get welcomed by super friendly people who will give you one of the greatest restaurant experiences ever. The food and drinks are carefully selected and very much recommendable. For vegetarians are lots of options, for everyone something. The name of the restaurant means corn leaves which you can find on your plate as decoration underneath the burgers for example. Now to the most important part, the food: it seems to be very organic but still has such a great taste. We wish to be able to experience the first bite again.
